pissed my pants at "Shithead, that's laughter in the rain..."
-
Billy needs to do an interview with Rick Beato.
-
Joel was a fantastic guest - totally open and shared some really great insights.
-
So interesting to see how the seed of a song sprouts into a beautiful flower of genius when it's in the hands of a master.
-
I love musicians (I'm one myself) talking about their creative process. He's one of the great songwriters of his generation. That's why I liked the Beatles documentary, too.
-
Billy Joel is a genius.
-
I think Howard needs more logos in his studio.
-
Thank you Howard for coxing out a Master's class on songwriting! By Billy Joel no less!
-
Wish Howard would release whole episodes of interviews this good instread of these snippets..Love ya Howard since the '80's...

John Lennon originally wrote "Whatever gets you thru the night" to the tune or groove of the song "Rock Your Baby" by George McCrea. You can one of the studio takes on his Anthology cd box set.

Amazing

2:42 It had to be "Honesty". Elton John and Bernie Taupin had already used "Harmony" on Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
-
We already heard this story many times.... And so did Howard...
-
HAHAHAHA, I just came from "Honesty"!! Hadn't heard that song, in a long, long, time. This HS clip showcases probably my 2 favorite BJ songs. Well, except for the new one, now.

I would pay big money to sit down and have a beer with his drummer Liberty. I'd be tempted to start by going "wtf kind of name is 'Liberty' anyway?" Then he'd punch me, I'd fall down, I'd get back up, and we'd laugh and have another beer. Maybe.
-
0:18 also... "Waterloo Sunset"
-
Ready for his March 28 100th residency show 🔥🔥🔥

Wish I lived in an alternate universe where “Sodomy” is considered one of the classic love songs.
