When you think you're going for ww2 blitzkrieg to prepare WW3 and you end up in a sad replay of ww1...
  • Rich young Russian men are vacationing in Phuket, Thailand. The poor always get screwed no matter what country you come from..
  • An ex US army logistics officer described how he realised how bad the Russian army was when he saw a highly expensive radar system was abandoned because its tyres had failed. He described that if they canā€™t be bothered to maintain highly sophisticated systems, what does that tell you about how the ordinary stuff is maintained? He had come across vehicles equipped with the Chinese tyres in Somalia, and learned then that their quality was so poor that they were functionally useless. No doubt a Russian general got a big bribe for buying them.
  • Africa must be the only continent on Earth that aspires to a Russian passport.

Fun fact: the vast majority of the sailors that died when the Moskva sank are still considered MIA. When the soldier is MIA the Russian government doesn't have to pay out money to their surviving relatives. Unless you get your relative home in a body bag which is extremely unlikely you got scammed.

It's a welcome irony that powerful, egotistical people only surround themselves with subordinates who will whisper sweet nothings in their ears.
  • Youā€™re judged by the company you keep! China, NK, Iran, etc.
  • When I was in Desert Storm, I saw some Russian navy ships. It was hard to visually determine a Russian navy ship because Russia didnā€™t care for its ships. They would get a new ship and 10-20 years later, it was junk due to non maintenance. Russia doesnā€™t seem to comprehend that ships are made of metal and salt is bad for metal so hence: remove the salt !! This situation doesnā€™t at all surprise me.

One cannot help but be shocked that the "second greatest military in the world" cannot cope with logistical problems in a war on its own boarder that they chose the time and place to start in the first place.

The flaccid tank turret is outrageous in the thumbnail šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
  • @Rekuzan
If their tanks were stripped for parts and sold off piece meal, what do you think their nuclear arsenal looks like?
  • @williggg
    I donā€™t know if calling T-72 tanks ā€œmodern tanksā€ is accurate.

There is a reason we have in Finnish verb ā€ryssiƤā€ which means roughly ā€to totally fail somethingā€.ā¤
  • If Russia could fight the way it manages its bots in the comments section, it would have overrun Ukraine in two weeks.
  • @zulubeatz1
According to Russian internet experts those destroyed convoys and failed air assaults were all just a ā€˜feintā€™ and apparently they still have millions of battle ready troops and tanks. Yeah
  • Another key factor has been the brutality of the Russian troops and missile campaigns. This has served to unite a once divided country against any idea of Russian influence. For Ukraine, this has been a decisive nation-building experience. The great majority now view their future as a Western-style democracy within the EC and NATO.
