When I was in Desert Storm, I saw some Russian navy ships. It was hard to visually determine a Russian navy ship because Russia didn’t care for its ships. They would get a new ship and 10-20 years later, it was junk due to non maintenance. Russia doesn’t seem to comprehend that ships are made of metal and salt is bad for metal so hence: remove the salt !! This situation doesn’t at all surprise me.

One cannot help but be shocked that the "second greatest military in the world" cannot cope with logistical problems in a war on its own boarder that they chose the time and place to start in the first place.
