Every week we buy a Costco chicken. Don’t mind the bag. Maybe because we do Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Not once have we had the bag improperly sealed. We get a whole chicken, eat ½ that night and then vacuum pack the rest and freeze it to cook later as pot pies, chicken soup, or chicken breast sandwiches. Then make broth from the bones. I think it is the best deal going.

The cost of fuel, food, and lodging I opt to stay local. Can hunt and fish in my back yard. Miles and miles of dirt bike trails. Bonfires with the neighbors. Private lake. Country life is the life.

Many "annual" 4th of July fireworks canceled here in southern Wisconsin. Not due to drought (no drought conditions), but lack of funding. Cities seeking "Fireworks Sponsors" and businesses are tapped out.

I haven’t watched any pro sports since the no standing for the national anthem, haven’t shopped at target, won’t go to tractor supply and haven’t traveled since the beginning of this sick administration. Shop locally, cook at home and enjoy being debt free since 1995. With inflation it’s a challenge with no frills.

Just replanted all my beans had a nice harvest... Pinto beans did the best...cow peas 2nd..they love this heat.. looks like I'll be eating burritos awhile. I don't own a computer, I don't own a TV, I don't own a car. My smartphone is 7 years old. I do have a 1960s radio that I get all my propaganda for free on.

I learned the hard way to put anything that might leak in to its own separate plastic bag. I may put multiple plastic bag items in to one paper bag for convenience. But always separate from the other groceries. This goes for soap and other liquid stuff as well as food.

It puts the employees in danger if they have to go after shoplifters! That is what store security is for!

My husband and I are retired and we would go for weekend vacations. Not anymore! Even though we can afford it, we can’t justify spending twice the amount for it!!

I visited Huntington Beach late afternoon yesterday. I make a trip out there at least once a year during the summer, usually before the 4th of July weekend. I was shocked to see how little foot traffic there was compared to all of the previous years I've been (been visiting for over 10+ years). Sure, the beach was busy. No one was shopping or dining at the shopping malls. The signs are telling.

I can't afford to even go local so I just do whatever I would do on vacation at home: pitch a tent, cook out, fill my little pool, make the best of it.
