This whole movie was basically just a beautifully animated medley
  • @VenaCava
I love that they included stuff from Galaxy and Odyssey, not just the classics.
  • @Pie-crust45
Loved the movie, but my only issue is that in the rainbow road scene, they aren't falling off the track 80% of the time
  • I don't know why but hearing the OG Rainbow Road theme and recognizing it in the theatres felt like the most rewarding thing ever since I have no right to know it being born after it was relevant

I can always appreciate that illumination recognizes that no matter how much you try, no amount of remixing can make “Bowser’s Fury” more epic

When Gusty Gardens started playing on the credits i wanted to cry of pure joy
  • Imagine if the Sonic movie had put this much love into their soundtrack. Which is ironic, because the Sonic games always ROCK with their soundtracks

2:52 They did such a good job on the Mario Galaxy music. I loved hearing that in the end credits.
  • God this movie is a literal love letter for the mario franchise, it's amazing

A lot of people don't notice this. But there is actually a smart steer antenna on the back of toads giant truck.
  • One thing I noticed while watching the movie is that all the non-soundtrack songs (Holding Out For A Hero, Take on Me, ETC) came from the 80’s, the same decade the Mario franchise originated from.

Big ups to Brian Tyler. He said in an interview with Variety that he is a huge Mario fan and you can absolutely tell. “I knew this music,” Tyler shares. “It was a part of my childhood in the same way that I grew up listening to film scores. I wanted to have built-in nostalgia where it immediately feels like Mario,” he says for writing new Mario music. “The idea was the score would be thematic Mario.” He worked closely with the original composer Koji Kondo on the new soundtrack and this was the end result. Absolutely amazing.
  • THIS is how you adapt a soundtrack to a film adaptation. Mad kudos and respect to Brian Tyler, Koji Kondo, and everyone else who was involved in bringing the series soundtrack to life Now let them compose my funeral
  • Even getting a smidge of the Luigi’s Mansion theme was a big win in my book 💚 i love this movie so much
  • The whole movie had that perfect balance between "easter eggs too obvious to everyone" to "if you know, you know" and I had a blast being 38 year old dude in a Luigi hat." I've never dressed up for a movie before, but was happy to for this one, and wasn't let down. Peaches peachespeachespeaches has been stuck in my head all day.

The fact they packed from EVERY game from EVERY era, from the references to the music to the costumes and visuals… Idc if it’s tooooo much like the games! That’s the damn point!
  • @max_harwell
Don't forget that Luigi's phone ringtone is the Nintendo Gamecube startup jingle.
  • Bowser's Fury was such an awesome deep-cut reference and I had to try as hard as I could not to scream with joy as to scare the kids in the audience.

10:23 I’m already well into my adulthood but hearing Rainbow Road’s soundtrack for the first time in this movie filled me with such an intense feeling of childlike wonder
