The guy was getting so frustrated when Jay kept liking the old one hahahaha
  • @yeahitskimmel
Porsche guy on Ceramic brakes "It adds a little bit of cost" 😂😁😅😂
  • Jay's comment towards the end was very revealing, especially for a car enthusiast. People kind of thought or perhaps still think the Boxster and Cayman are the downgrades or economy Porsches. In fact, they are sublime and a joy to own and drive. It's really about the way a car or motorcycle makes you feel, not the supreme power or label.

“I just keep it in sport -plus all the time.” Preach, brother Leno, preach.
  • @igotaction
Carbon ceramic brakes, "...adds a little bit of cost." Understatement of the year.
  • @osbert43
Love my 2000 Boxster. It is the perfect car for summer night drives down twisty country roads. And oh...that engine note!! It comes to life at around the 3-4000 RPM moment and never fails to bring a smile to my face.
  • @johnswanson6994
“If Porsche had started today, they’d have gone with the mid engine”. Truer words Jay, truer words.
  • I would take the 25-year old version and be content. What a beauty & timeless classic! 🧨
  • @danwatts4236
I received my boxster in may of 1998, justed turned 60k in milage. Love it, been driving Porsche since 1986.
  • At 11:00 Jay was right. Original Boxster (986) Drag Coefficient 0.31 New Boxster (982) Drag Coefficient 0.34
  • @ToxicSpiker
14:06 "...but you put this up" tries to bend firm plastic - "It's fixed" LMAO his face when he said that killed me
  • @normfinn8422
'04 Boxster 178,000 miles. Leather interior just as pretty as the day I bought it. Talk about build quality!!
  • @basithph8958
I know some people will love it or hate it but this was the car that ultimately saved Porsche before the Cayenne was made And I think it'll become a classic too especially as a spiritual successor to the 550 Spyder
  • @04dram04
I think the orignal boxster is more fun to drive than the new one. Its small size is what gives it that exciting Gokart feel. The smaller engine means you can really rev it out, on the streets.
  • Thanks you Mr. Leno for bringing attention to a really underrated car. I am still in love with my 01. As hard as it may be to believe, the car on the left is also a dynamite car. I wish Mr. Leno would taken that for a spin. 1st gen Boxster may be the best sports car for the money one can buy. Buy the nicest with service history you can find, well worth the extra money. If you want to do a little Florida rally Mr. Leno, bring the 99 down and we will do a rollout.
  • @csmarkham
Hands raised by those who have the 1:18 scale model of that original Boxster show car.
  • I like how Jay steps closer to the Car and puts his hand on it when the Guys mentions an oldschool, naturally aspirated, high reving engine :D 7:53
  • Have had four 911s and two boxsters the last 25 years. The 2005 boxster S was my favorite of all of them. Would be nice if people would stop randomly asking “didn’t get the 911?” When I got out of the car every so often. Oh well.
  • @jo151
I’ve had a 911 and a Boxster. The Boxster is hands down more fun to drive.
