  • Hi Paul, a compelling and interesting deep dive into this particular model. I am hoping to get my hands on this exact version, 514, in the near future and you have given me even more confidence in the purchase. Great review again my friend. Keep well!

Hi paul I hope you are well These are not a rebuild of a p2 that class is a a2/2 If any thing they are a development of a a1 or a3 if anything. Edward Thompson did not believe in naming locomotive. It was the broads who made him. Also a1 and a3 was named after race horses. Thank you for the shout out. I hope you enjoy the book. Oakwood press have a lot of designer life and time. As a model hornby got it spot on. Full credit to Simon kohler and Montana Hoeren and the team. Your model stunning so smooth too. Thank you for sharing your models with us Keep safe ARP
  • Since you already got a Thompson A2/3, any planning to get the others like A2/2? Too bad they haven't made A1/1 and A2/1. Too bad they are overhated. Those Locomotives by far is in my top 5 Favourite Locomotives.

  • Great review. Barrie Davis bought one of these. He had to send the first 2 back. On his 3rd one, he now loves it. It does everything he wants in an engine. I think this is where their bad name came from. In their early stage, they were very bad runners and you had to keep sending them back until you get a good one. I subscribe to Adi's channel. I find it very good and it is encouraging me to start my layout. I just have a bit more work to do before I can start the baseboard.
  • Nice engine. You got a good performer there. I've taken a new turn with the much tinier N Gauge, of Graham Farish status. Aside from this, my 42nd birthday is one week away (Sat. 6th July). Perhaps you might have something up your sleeves.
