it is interesting how the lines meant to be branches of the tree begin to look like the veins in a leaf. also, I really like the tiny leaves you added, almost as an afterthought. it becomes a kind of "controlled chaos" by taming the randomness of the colors into tiny pockets of calm (yet windswept) leaves. maybe it is my monitor, your camera, the youtube compression algorithm, or just my eye, but the flat beige seemed to "wake up" the movement of the paints. I wonder what it would look like with a flat brown. (that would be a lot of brown in all of the negative space that is currently occupied by the gold, wouldn't it?)

I agree with your idea about doing a messy pour in the direction of her hair then, once thoroughly dry, masking off the face... but (and I hope this makes sense) what if you were to do two masks, both in the shape of the face only one is 1/2"- 3/8" larger and to the left, tapering together at the forehead and, after spraying the gold, peel the 1/2" silhouette away and either spray with black or brown... or a mixture of both to give the illusion of bark? wait. nevermind. this would require masking the entirety of the gold, wouldn't it? hmm. it is all in my head, not yours. I like what you have done here, and you asked for ideas; you didn't ask for new concepts.

finally, wind! similar to the mermaid, you create movement in behind the face with a calm, sky blue on the other side. as for what kind of movement, I don't know. there is also the meeting of wind, sky, water, and earth in the form of rain. is there a way to pour so that you only get tiny metallic spots on a field of blue, gray, and brown, giving the illusion of raindrops? sorry. I am rambling. I just started watching the mermaid video when the black/brown separation from the gold came to mind. I don't really know what is possible yet.

I absolutely adore this, changing the edges was genius, it really adds to the overall appearance. The colours remind me of a daily journey I used to have when I worked. Those were the magical colours of all the trees.
  • @Archypaddy
