Reality TV is more popular than ever so today I went through and reacted to a bunch of medical scenes that have occurred on reality shows like The Deadliest Catch, The Amazing Race, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kitchen Nightmares and Hell's Kitchen with Chef Gordon Ramsey, Dance Moms, Impractical Jokers and Rupaul's Drag Race! Let me know down below if there are other shows or scenes you want me to react to!

0:45 Gorden actually commented that he stopped doing kitchen nightmares in part because he would constantly have a bad stomach from eating the literal garbage he was served on a regular basis.
  • @SlimThrull
The fact that the watermelon broke is probably what saved her from a much worse injury. A good deal of the energy was used up breaking the watermelon as opposed to breaking her bones.
  • i like how Gordon goes straight up to ask if there feeling and well and ask what they ate to check on the food
  • @Siko7000
0:42 fun fact: that restaurant was one of the longest lasting ones after kitchen nightmares, lasting over 10 years and only closing a few months ago.

Septic arthritis is no joke, it's what killed my mother. Partly because she mistook the early symptoms for pneumonia and didn't seek treatment until it was well advanced.
  • @Maerahn
In that Gordon Ramsey clip, Gordon had found a dead lobster in the tank with the live ones not ten minutes before service began in that restaurant. Presumably he thought simply telling the staff "don't serve any lobster that's been in that tank" would be enough for them to... not do that. But then, this is 'Kitchen Nightmares,' so...

another note you might find interesting about the dance moms clip: Nia (the girl who got injured) also has Reflex neurovascular dystrophy, so i cant imagine how painful that was to her despite it being a somewhat minor injury
  • (Not so) Fun fact: the reason why Gordon Ramsey asked if that lady’s friend was a vegetarian is because they soaked their tomato soup in ham bones or something and didn’t disclose it
  • Vomiting blood was already concerning, but the instant she said she was on birth control, I got even more concerned about the state of her blood. I've had to deal with blood clots as a side effect of birth control; it's extremely unpleasant. The clots hit my lungs and probably would've killed me if I'd waited too much longer.

I would LOVE to see Dr. Mike to react to more dance moms. Not only physical injuries, but also the mental and emotional stress during the show.

I love that Dr Mike mentioned hypothermia treatment following cardiac arrest. It’s what saved my dad’s life in 2021.

The Kardashian one bothered me. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis over a year ago and the process was INSANELY painful. It took a couple weeks to spread from a toe and finger joint to my whole body and once I got in to see my doctor, all she could do was send me to a rheumatologist. Problem was it took six months to get in to see one, and in that time I could barely dress myself, couldn't prepare my own food, turn doorknobs etc. I don't have all the context on the Kardashians, but RH is a lot worse than they made it seem.

honestly if I’m ever in an emergency every single video that doctor Mike has ever uploaded will just flow into to my mind

I was a national level athlete. One late night practice, I had a very serious fall. I was told not to compete that weekend, but this was what I'd been training for! A month later the doc showed us fractures in my spine and told us that I was "faking it"! So even with the pain I went back to skating for another 6 mths, which was the most humiliating and painful way to end my career. Finally a neurosurgeon did an MRI and had me in for my first of 3 surgeries within 2 weeks. 30 years later I still deal with severe chronic pain from sciatica and degenerative disc disease. I'm actually waiting on an MRI now with the real possibility that another surgery is in my future. Moral of the story, take injuries seriously and don't allow anyone to dismiss the pain or symptoms you have!

The watermelon launch is a CLASSIC but you missed the best part where her teammate said “you have to finish” & she said she can’t feel her face 😂
  • @maythegamer1291
In Dance Moms, from what I remember the instructor was really harsh and cruel with all the kids in the show and in some cases so were the moms. So knowing that and seeing that this person has pushed herself so far that she has a stress related injury. I hope she's doing ok both physically and mentally
  • Okay, wow. I did not know that combination oral contraceptives were not supposed to be taken by someone who has migraines with auras. That is incredibly important to know. I will be calling my doctor on Monday, first thing. Thank you, Doctor Mike! You may have saved me!
  • @domobfdi5480
I feel like Mike could have an entire episode with just Gordon Ramsey's shows and/or Deadliest Catch.

It’s disheartening to see the kardashians get the tests they need right away for symptoms I’ve been having. My doctors and the ER refuse to do the tests I need because I’m young. 100% it’s because they’re rich and can go to any doctor they want.
