"Dave, I would have taken a bullet for you." -That gets me every time! Dave is truly one of the most underrated, heartfelt and fantastically written movies. I love it! Also, Kevin Kline is one of the most underrated actors of our time. Wish he had done more after the '90s.
-
I’d vote for Dave.
-
"I would've taken a bullet for you." Simple, sincere... That line...is the hallmark of what it means to be a good leader. When those you lead aren't commanded to do what needs to be done, or because they feel a sense of obligation or compulsion, but because they WANT to...because your leadership is worthy of their effort.

I love Ving Rhames in this. He goes from, "I'm here." To, "Do you think a sweater vest would look good on me?" And then him being in the campaign office at the end! Chef's kiss. It was such a nuanced performance that deserves a lot more credit.
-
"I would have taken a bullet for you." One of the best lines that makes my heart melt every time I hear it.

Kevin Kline won the Oscar for Fish Called Wanda in 1988, five years later, after several ensemble pieces he finally graduated to leading man in this film. Just a good wholesome film.
-
Frank Langella is so good in this. He makes Bob believably intimidating without becoming a cartoon villain. I really wish the problems in the US were simple enough that they could be solved by good people sitting down together and talking things out.
-
Kevin Kline has so much range. He makes a great villain (like Otto) but also a romantic lead, dramatic lead, and he's very funny when he wants to be. Great actor, all around. And Sigourney is an icon. I love this movie.
-
"Uh-oh. Where'd your friends go Bob?" Love it! And I've loved this movie for a long time. This was a fun watch-a-long. Thanks!
-
It makes me so happy that you watched this. Not many people even know this movie exists. This came out when I was a jaded 16yr old, and I so wanted to have a president like this as well. Great reaction
-
President Dave Kovic/bill mitchell: “she hates me.” Chief of staff and communications director: YES!
-
Kevin Kline is fantastic actor. He actually won an Oscar for playing Otto in "A Fish Called Wanda". He was in a great western with Kevin Costner and Danny Glover called "Silverado".
-
I can’t believe it took this long for her to finally see Dave. I knew she would love it.
-
I love the sheer numbers of real-life personalities who got cameos, from celebrities like Arnold Schwartzenegger and Oliver Stone, to politicians like Tip O'Neill, even to the reporters in the press room. Such a who's who of early '90s politics
-
Carrie: “Okeh, okeh, okeh.” Carrie is now Leo Getz!
-
Props to Frank Langella, he always adds a touch of class to a film. He can terrify onscreen without even trying. Great work from the whole cast, really, and Laura Linney looks so stunning!
-
The lady reporter is (real life reporter) Helen Thomas. She's been covering nearly every presidential press conferences since John F. Kennedy.-"Thank you Mr. President" was her tag line.
-
You are not the only one who would like someone like Dave as POTUS.
-
"Oh. Bob." I remember that from seeing this in the theater when it came out. Perfect delivery.
-
“Uh oh, where your friends go BOB!”😂❤ High five!🙌🏼
