super-cool older brother brought this album home. I waited for him to go out somewhere, then brought it into my room to listen on my stereo. I had never heard anything like this. I wasn't a fan of instrumentals, but this was indefinably wonderful. It produces the same effect in me today as it did the first time: peace and calm and wonder. My brother came home when I was in a trance, listening to this a second time. He gave me a withering frown, and told me, "Get your own copy." So I did. I saved my babysitting money, and went to the record store for the album, and played this so many times that the crackles from wearing out the vinyl became a part of the song. When I listen to this, my heartbeat slows; the peace and wonder at its beauty relaxes me and gives me joy.
  • For decades, the Stones was my top band, but now that I'm in my 70s, Zeppelin is coming out ahead.

Canā€™t believe this music is over half a century old. Every song on this album is a classic. Shame on you advertisers for spoiling it.

I was born in '65 so, Stairway was probably the first Zep song I recognized as theirs. THIS is the first Zep album I ever bought, though. What a great way to introduce yourselves to the world!

  • I've listened to Led Zeppelin my whole life. So have my children and grand children. Need I say more?
  • This album never stops giving even after what, 54 years at this point. Thank you music Gods for the Beatles and Led Zeppelin back to back. What a ride.

1969 was the year Zeppelin fired up my synapses, a super electric rush to the system. I haven't been the same since that moment and glad about it.
  • Picture this: Talbot Village-Indianapolis- Early spring 1969. I'm bopping down a sidewalk at 22nd and Talbot with a buddy and we hear this incredible music pouring out of a 2nd story window of an old victorian house. Dude is sitting in the window and I shout "Hey man who is that ?" He answers "Led Zeppelin..come on up!" We run up the stairs, he sparks up a joint and starts up the record for us. I'd been collecting rock and roll since 1954 (and still am) and I was blown away. Got married a couple of months later and went to see Zep live later that year. WHEW !
