The SMART Way Of Setting Goals & Visions

Published 2020-08-07
Ideas are also plans of execution. Plans are of the mind, right?

It is very common that we make resolutions to do something, maybe new year resolutions and in the end of the year, we have either forgotten that we even made a resolution in the first place or we have badly performed in implementing that resolution.

The SMART way of creating and writing goals is a proven strategy and process. This popular strategy simply involves considering five areas your goal should qualify for before you start to implement it.

The SMART way of Setting Goals

1. S - Specific.
Your goal must be as Specific as possible to make it an actionable goal.

2. M - Measurable
Your goal should be Measurable. You should be able to set a metric for evaluating the success of your endeavor.

3. A - Attainable
A SMART goal must be Attainable. You cannot set yourself up to chase castles in the air.

4. R - Relevant
How important is the goal to you? A good and SMART goal must play a role in your vision and purpose. It must mean something to you.

5. T - Time Bound
Your SMART goal must be time bound. Thus, you should be able to assign deadlines for the execution or completion of the goal.

This wraps up the SMART strategy for setting goals.
