I grew up in nearby Bristol and remember spending time at Black Rock State Park. Absolutely loved that beach, and the family picnics! Did plenty of hiking in the park, and on the Mattatuck Trail south of Route 6. Went as far north up to the Black Rock Lake Dam, which is pretty cool to see. The land itself really is magical, this park is one thing I miss about living in Connecticut.

I live in Ct., and I've gone there quite a few times. Just for the day usually. It's really pretty. I have camped there too, but not as often.

Love Black Rock State Park. Love taking the Mattatuck trail to the Leatherman's Cave just a short hike away. Captured that on the photos/video I took when I was there recently.

Me and my fiance are first time campers and just booked at black rock. So now I decided to look up videos to see what the place looks like and funny you mention site 96...96 was the only site available for the weekend we booked so that's where we will be staying!
