I actually think that sonic freaking out over metal dying was kind of reasonable since it was like watching yourself burn to a crisp. He saw metal save those two and saw there was some humanity in the machine but I guess that was not emphasized too much.

Thing is, the adult humour is considered, not quite young kids humour, but around 10 year old humour in Japan. That's why there are so many blatant adult jokes in this kids movie, they would be jokes for kids over there.

5:11 Sonic sneezes when he is around danger or evil. Rubbing his nose is an example of that sense. The nose thing was more widespread in Japan at the time, and almost recently the west has started to get it.

Eh, still my guilty pleasure movie. I'd go back to this one, if not to only poke fun at it.

1:41 Actually, this movie came out before the Pokémon anime. The Japanese release for Sonic OVA is 1996, while Pokémon came around in 1997.

literally the one female character in this is a weird cat girl hybrid when they clearly could have just as well used Amy! isn't that sin enough for this movie?

Wouldn't it make more sense if the sentence was "Shut up Tails!" instead of just "Tails voice"?

here's a couple of missing sins: 1. you forgot to add a scene where metal robotnik fell apart and they found out that sara and robotnik have been piloting it all this time 2. knuckles tells the president that he's sonic's best friend even though in the games he's sonic's rival and sometimes anti-hero

7 - This OVA was release in Japan in 1996, Pokemon was in 1997, so OVA wins.
