In the supply chain logistics sector, you plan for a disaster you hope never comes.

On March 26, it did.

The Key Bridge collapsed, shutting down the Port of Baltimore. But companies like Nexterus were prepared; they’ve had practice.

"I think the last big devastation was the pandemic, and prior to that, 9/11,” CEO Sam Polakoff said. "So we're sort of their outsourced supply chain department. So it's our job to be on top of everything that's happening in the world and when something like this happens, we spring into action."

  • Well done story about the bridge. Just out of curiosity, I wonder if that logistics company is working on the Panama canals issue?

  • That guy has a way better view of corporations than I do. In my experience, all they do is gouge, gouge, gouge!

The Port has already reopened. As far as reopened as before i think people are going to be surprised. As far as reopening into the largest Port Complex in the World that can very much happen given how far Inland the Port of Baltimore is compared to any other Port anywhere in North America and in theory how "well connected" by both Rail and Canal.

Of course, it is never bad as people expected. The worst case is called click bait.
