The original Xbox had an important part to play in the history of video games, introducing the world to the likes of Master Chief, Sam Fisher, and Ryu Hayabusa. Thanks to these highlights, Microsoft gained a foothold alongside already-established console giants, Nintendo and Sony, and set the groundwork for enormous successes yet to come but what about the unsung heroes? Forget Halo and Gears of War; today we're looking at 10 Hidden Gems For The Original Xbox

DeathRow is one I recently found and loved. Like if Quake 3 Arena made a Frizbee Golf spin off. Also the edgy futuristic character lore is fun to read through.

Gunvalkyrie is a game I think deserves to be a hidden gem. It has one of the most unique control schemes I can remember. It was a lot of fun and felt kinda like a Platinum Game. I still think the Original XBOX game library is the brand’s best.
  • Advent rising always reminded me of "bloodrayne"... which is one of my favorite hidden gem from that era. From OG xbox, some lesser known gems: Tao Feng fist of the lotus, king fu chaos, bloodwake, and brute force...

The OG Xbox was a jem and a passion project and it shows. Alot of the games still hold up today and look good on HD TV's. With all of Microsoft's missteps recently, i think it really needs to dig in deep and find that passion that made Xbox great in the first-place. The Xbox Doc that was released for the 20th anniversary should be required training at MS gaming and i strongly encourage any Xbox fans to give it a watch.

I had two games in mind starting this video, phantom crash and breakdown. Really glad to see me and my brother aren't the only ones who still think of them
  • Absolutely love this series, hope you do a sequel of “10 more hidden gems....”
  • @GreenskullAI
This was a throwback. So many good memories on the OG Xbox.
  • Man Phantom Dust was pretty awesome I used to play it all the time especially online

I'm really looking forward to 10 Hidden Gems for the Atari Lynx.
  • @KenpoJuJitsu3
WOW. I had Apex and played it a TON. With no exaggeration, this is the first time I've ever seen it mentioned in any video.

Does Advent Rising count? Sure nobody remembers it now, but I remember when it came out it had a massive marketing campaign…which only made it more of a flop when it failed

I always liked the Indiana Jones game that was an Xbox timed exclusive here in the USA. That never gets a shout out on these list, hell neither does the Buffy the Vampire Slayer and that was was a pretty fun beat em up.
  • @Phrogly
Breakdown's that infamous game with the impossible ending! Modern hardware makes the enemies move too fast and stun lock you with immersion. It's pretty funny tbh

I always look for a copy of phantom dust at used game stores and half price books. Ao many amaizing forgoten mech games on the OG XB and 360. I miss chrome hounds.
  • A few honourable mentions: Otogi 1 & 2 Rallisport Challenge 2 Quantum Redshift Darkwatch Fatal Frame 2 Links 2004 Voodoo Vince Mace Griffin Kung Fu Chaos Scrapland Top Spin 🦆⛳🐙
