I love how she says BLACK. She was a treasure. R.I.P. queen.

She was a fighter. I am a Black guy, but I never discovered Nina Simone until a White friend turned me on to her back in the 90's. I was so intrigued by her. I started reading about her....and realized that she was one of the Black people who took the stones so that I can be where I am today.

Wish more black people felt and thought this way.

"This is what compels me, to compel them..."

She invested her cherished free time on the future generation, despite being so exhausted and tired from work. Mad respect for this lady. The most valued gift anyone can receive is the time you give them, from your busy life.

When she talks it sounds like poetry

Black is beautiful. No matter what society tries to tell me I will always love being Black.

That black" sounds beautiful

She is universally beautiful. Inside out. An amazon. She connects with me in a way that words cannot describe.

Forget beautiful, Nina is drop dead gorgeous.

I'm not black, bu I still know that I owe it to women like her to be able to live the way I do today. Being free even if many men don' t want me to. Brave, huge woman. A heroine. To think of what she could have done if she had lived longer!

And to me we have a culture that is surpassed by no other civilization but we don’t know anything about it. My job is to somehow make them curious enough or persuade them, by hook or crook, to get more aware of themselves and where they came from and what they are into and what is already there, and just to bring it out. This is what compels me to compel them and I will do it by whatever means necessary.”

Yes you all are the most beautiful we all came from the blackness of Africa we are all ONe so simple yet so hard to accomplish

She is MAGNIFICENT! She was so intelligent, wise, fun, feisty, sexy and vulnerable. I watch her interviews for hours sometimes. She was it!
