This video shows how to use a variety of hair forks. I show a three prong, four prong, and a crescent hair fork. I explain the procedure for placing a hair for into the hair.
Wearing the hair forks horizontally and through loose buns have been the the most comfortable ways to wear the forks so far.
Hair forks are one of my favorite hair accessories. I like that I am able to keep my hair up and in a low tension style.
I purchased the large 4 prong hair fork from OruAka on Etsy.
I purchased the 3 prong hair fork from South4th on Etsy.

Thank you so much for watching!

I got the hair fork from: www.etsy.com/shop/South4th?ref=l2-shopheader-name

This video shows how to make a nautilus bun. I find that the nautilus bun is a secure and comfortable bun. It is one of my favorite buns. I love putting my hair up in buns! Hair buns are one of the things I love about long hair! :D

So pretty, a very elegant and sophisticated look ( and nice for hot weather too I'd guess). Long hair gives you so many great options for styles. Thanks for posting.

Thank you for these tutorials! I HATE using hair ties and bought a two prong hair fork but wasn't sure if it would work on tightly curled, afro textured hair. This is exactly what I was looking for. The "flip and turn" method that you do seems like it really helps to 'anchor' the hair in place. I will be trying this with my locks! Also, hooray for 4a hair! :D
  • I LOVE the large wooden hair fork! What a unique piece! I am still in love with the wooden and leather hair barrettes that I purchased after you featured them in a previous video. I am looking forward to trying other options when my hair gets longer so thanks for sharing! Hope you are enjoying your weekend too!

Hi...I bought a beautifu, but very expensivel three prong fork for my long hair and went through many fork prong tutorials, and your demonstration is by far the best I've seen in explanation and example movement. Your method makes sense. Finally, I succeeded in learning how to "fork" my bun properly as I watched your tutorial. Thank you so much!
  • I checked out the shop and the really have some nice wood items. Thanks for sharing

That is such a really neat cool way to hold the hair up. Great tutorial. And later when you let it the hair down, just so gorgeous!
  • @1ballerina
Thank you! As long as the person knows how to use the fork and has a fork that is the right size for them it will hold hair regardless of the length, curls, waves, & straight hair.
  • @1ballerina
Yes it is a huge one! I was out to find the largest hair fork I could find lol. I got it from OruAka on Etsy (it is almost 7 inches long, 17.5cm in length).
  • @Zoe.Wolfchild
Perfect! This is something I need ... and they're so beautifully carved too :)
  • Lol. I bought a hair fork and was about to request you do a video on how to use it.

Thanks Sis!! I just purchased one, that red cedarwood was calling my name and you can't go wrong with free shipping. :o)
  • @1ballerina
Nice! Mmmm cedar, I love the smell of cedar.
  • @1ballerina
Perfect! We are riding the same wave! :D

Thank you! I am not sure when he will be making some, it's a hobby of his and he'll get into woodworking every once in a while so I will have to make sure to get my requests in on the next round. There is another Etsy store called South4th that makes some nice sleek ones, it is where I got the three pronged fork. There is another one called CrockettMountainWood, I got a few smaller pieces from them, they have some interesting pieces as well. :D
