Edit: some of these such as entrapta and Sheldon Cooper have questionable canonisity. Though most of them are completely canon

  • Please be respectful to disability in the comments. If you came here to be ableist you're just a bit of an a**hole!

    TOPH JOKING WITH HER BLINDNESS,I CAN'T 😭😭😭☠️☠️☠️
  • Fun fact: Porky was never meant to be stuttering, the voice actor had this problem so recording sessions could be long because of how much he stuttered. If it stood with the character of Porky it's because it sounded well in his character.

I love how Bluey incorporates different disabilities into their show. It just shows how amazing this show is for children. I also like how all medias help normalize disabilities to the new generations and just everyone. It’s so heartwarming to me

I love when characters in kids shows are just treated as anyone else. I'm not disabled but I love knowing that we're raising more and more accepting kids
  • @kananasho
i have autism and without realising it I've always been kind of ashamed of my autistic traits but seeing that muppet brought me some happy tears

I love how Toph embraces and accepts the fact that she's blind, and also makes hilarious jokes about it! She's definitely my favorite character in ATLA, and also the funniest! (But Sokka takes a close second) 😁😅

It’s good to know that there are many different disability representatives in tv shows/films

5:06 I'm sorry but "dyslexia" being spelled wrong is just perfect HAHHAHA
  • @zombsterr
I love Mandy Mouse's animation where she spins in her wheelchair as a form of joy, it fills me with much joy seeing how the animators expressed that despite how simple it is
  • 4:53 I love how even though she is being insulted she still teaches her how to say the word in sign language
  • @JeMoeder123
In my opinion, Toph is my fav disabled character, she was still such an amazing and capable character that even the characters in the show forgot about her disability.

it’s funny how most characters with disabilities aren’t looked upon as stupid or odd. it’s just something that gives a person more character than the normal. i’m glad for that personally lol
  • @Wishes_On_Stars
In bluey Dougie uses REAL sighn language! Though it was hard to interpret and animate with just four fingers, they did it

To be honest. When I saw Toph at first I didn't even know she had vision problems. Her earth bending makes her completely in tune with her surroundings working as a form of artificial vision of sorts allowing her to sense things even though she can't see normally through her eyes. That and the fact that she's a capable fighter as well. I mean I guess the greyed out eyes implied something was wrong with her vision but I just glossed over it when I first saw the show. I guess though this is what makes Toph cool as a character. She may be blind but she doesn't let it weigh her down. She is in tune with the earth around her to the point where she doesn't even need help finding her way around. She's capable on her own and is a very strong fighter.

4:20 literally described adhd perfectly, its the exact same way for me, if I'm not stimulated i might as well punch a wall just to get some stimulation.
