Theory, You are looking though the shield through a rectangular slit. from the front, this would basically look like a baby juggernaught. They think you are one of them.

Confuses their human recognition algorithm obviously

I love it. They can see and shoot at you through mountains but can't see you behind a shield.

I think you saw my reddit post. Noise is your only real issue when using this tech. Vaulting and walking normally might alert them but as long as you are facing them shield up they wont actually know youre there. Also when an enemy alerts, you have a second or two to put your shield up and they go back to a neutral state

This is like that military AI that was trained to identify soldiers on photographs that could be easily fooled by just holding a branch over your head or moving by doing summersaults instead of walking. Cuz that's not what soliders did in the training data so they are not soldiers as far as the AI is concerned

I remember an article about some top scientists, programmers and engineers had made a robot of the US armed forces and put on a demonstration for the US Marine Core. They challenged some marines to sneak up to it. One marine held up some branches and just walked at it and the robot couldn't see him and 2 marines got in a large cardboard box and crawled toward it, giggling all the way, they touched the robot, turned around and crawled back to the starting line, giggling all the way. The USMC was not impressed and the nerds did not feel good about it. Apparently the bots still haven't figured this out
