Ex-Google TechLead on quitting YouTube.
Tech of the Day: KeyChron Q5 Max Mechanical Keyboard www.keychron.com/products/keychron-q5-max-qmk-via-…
[NOTE: The corrected YouTuber wage calculation at 3:25 is 4 videos per *month*, not week. The rest is correct, so (assuming 100k views per video), it is $500/video * 4 videos/month * 12 months/yr = $24k annual salary]

People don't care about you, as much as you imagine. -TechLead Truer words, have never been spoken.

I’m the guy living in the middle of nowhere in Kansas playing video games all day. People need to learn to come to terms with the fact that not everyone can be a big shot in society, there always has to be people like me that are completely invisible to balance things out. 😊

If you quit youtube, I’m quitting too. You are my only subscription.

Do what your heart tells you to do. But at least dont delete the previous videos. The Information still stays.
  • @HE360_Games
This is why I do youtube as a hobby. In that way, I don't have to worry about some of these pressures. And by the way, it's how I get to post genuine content free of trying to please the algorithm and free of pressure to get views.

I believe his main point here is if there is a feel for retirement (as a Youtuber), you have to make sure that you don't bore yourself to death despite all the money you got. It's all about planning for the end that will still carry and maintain the status you had built and solidified. Tough luck to say the least.

Many peopl are switching to other site that, also, has the same original spirit of Youtube at its initial conception 10 years ago - no hidden direction and algorithms.
  • @Reflekt0r
Only if you quit YouTube can you stage a comeback.
  • @wanneroo7106
Youtube is such a mess with the algorithm right now and I find it totally unpredictable so I decided on my channel just to do whatever the hell I wanted and whatever I found interesting and the chips will fall where they may. I grew 300% last year.
  • I am quitting too, as soon as my YT premium trial expires in about two days time.
  • @realdadgaming
If Youtubers quitting left and right. Maybe its time for them to brainstorm / formulate a solution and replace YouTube.
