Also something to note around Mighty Car Mods: we are normal guys and are not trained mechanics. We like to make interesting car mods and show you how we've gone about it, but we can't promise that anything we show you will work for your particular car, or that you won't harm yourself, someone else, your car or your warranty doing it. Please be safe, be responsible and unless you know what you're doing, do not fool around with very serious machinery just because you've seen us make it look so easy. Great to have you guys on board again - we love working with you legends! Thanks for the support and helping us make it SUPER! Bring on the old man Turbo E85 Camry action!!

The resonator is called a "helmholtz resonator", and it is tuned to a specific frequency that is particularly loud on that intake system, in order to cancel it out. The whole point is to limit droning during cruise conditions.

The more a car has no business having a turbo the more it needs a turbo 🤌
  • @LZEGION
I purchased an 03 Camry, V6 manual at the start of the year. This video has encouraged me to hold on to it, and slowly build it up to be something special!
  • @SpoonerTuner
These types of projects are way more relatable and exciting to me than watching someone modify a $500,000 supercar. Good on ya mates. And cheers from the USA 🫡 🇺🇸

That first dyno pull after the turbo is maybe the most shocking thing in MCM history. I was losing my shit along with the boys.
  • @tietdrifter2041
Time to tubo my wife's Camry! My jaw hit he floor when I saw that number after the turbo. OVER 100% INCREASE ON A STOCK MOTOR! Bravo to you guys and everybody who helped! Truly the pure definition of sleeper.

42:00 to 42:42.... You literally spoke on why performance wanters (not afforders) love this kind of stuff.. Love you guys. Keep it up.
  • Pls keep making these kind of videos. Things do not have to keep getting more complex and more expensive in order to be great content. Absolutely love this!!

I like this long-form, all in one episode format. Can't wait to see it the "after" version at the drags. Might need a brake upgrade now...
  • @adambarnett5628
Awesome episode & build!! Thank you MCM for taking us along with you on this incredible build. I’m going through some stressful times, this video put many smiles on my face 😃 thank you for that! ☺️

Stiffer valve springs is a highly recommended upgrade for the 2AZ-FE. When the scion tc hit the market I would get young drivers come in left and right with popped springs from the high rpm’s

The reasonator that you were holding is called a quarter wave resonator. It is designer for a wave to hit the end of it and bounce back exactly half a wavelength later. The original wave is then hit by this wave coming back from the reasonator, reducing the noise. But the reasonator can also be tuned to create an additional stronger pulse into the intake, increasing the torque slightly at a certain rpm. If you want more information on this just Google quarter wave resonator or Helmholtz resonator. These reasonators are also very common in exhaust to remove drone at a specific frequency(rpm).

This might be my favorite episode/project ever. Just so out there, and yall made it work
  • @jaaasantv8723
I haven’t watched an episode in a long long time few years but this one brought me back I watched from start to finish well done guys.
  • @kempwood_foo
Saw y'all on real mechanic stuff and decided to check out your channel. Yall definitely earned a new follower. Great stuff, chaps!

This brought a tear to my eye. I had a 2003 Toyota Camry just like this one. Owned for 5 years. Took me to school and work reliably. Just needed a radiator and a wheel bearing in all that time. Multiple road trips. Never an issue. Excellent car and excellent video 👍 good job guys.

It's so good to see you modifying a proper nugget again, and it's so good to see your ear-to-ear smiles when you're enjoying the mighty-nugget you've turned it into.
  • @hoobaguy4311
Moog's description of the Camry driver hit home. I've had a 2014.5 Camry since 2017. I've also had a 3000gt vr4, then an aw11 mr2 alongside the Camry. But I do have a Camry as my daily.
