I love that you and the team are publishing videos again. Even during your hiatus from the tubes, I had been directing people this way for the great content.

I've been following you and the BOM for years now and had convinced myself that while I want one of your knives, I have no business buying a $1000 knife. Your recent spurr of videos is making me reconsider my decision!

By the way there is a "speed hack" for the Tormek: Put a small bushing on the drive shaft to increase its diameter, fix it with a grub screw or whatever you see fit, just ensure you don't chew up the rubber drive wheel (hidden underneath / inside the leather stropping wheel). And: The way you grind the blade results in a different cutting angle at the tip, you are supposed to tilt the bladeholder to the side while grinding, such that the contact point of the cutting edge stays on the same height on the stone. (some people put a line laser on the tormek for that reason, e.g. "Mehrere Messer hintereinande schleifen und nur einmal messen, Laser sei Dank" here on YouTube at time index 8:00)

You can get CBN wheels for the Tormek, down to 80 grit, up to 1000 grit. Resin bond diamond in 6 µm and 3µm are available too. Special clamps that actually do clamp the blade symmetrically, jigs to repeatedly clamp blades (so you can grind a bunch of blades at the same time without adjusting the bar on the Tormek every time). Maybe take a look at a T-Bar for your Tormek. There is a bunch of cool addons from third party suppliers.

I love our tormeks! I wish there was a 1 inch thick wheel. I find it harder to sharpen with wider wheels/belts. Like yall said you have to play with pressure for high/low spots. I have to dress often to keep the wheel cutting true and flat.

Love all the plants in that shop. Especialy the one under the hood. Good work fellas

I wonder if the clay in the paper is helping or hindering that edge?

Has the Volvo project seen any progress?

Alright... I'd really appreciate if you got your hands on some other Metabo batteries and tested those against each other. Mainly 4, 5.5, 8 and 10Ah. Tools in general get really compact and light with the 4Ah, without really sacrificing too much power (Or so it feels, I'd love to have some data for that). If you want some real beans: Metabo also makes 1450Nm(1069,5ft/lbs) and 1750Nm(1290.7ft lbs) impacts. The 1750 is 3/4".

Surprised you don’t mill a beveled edge to finish sharpen

What is the reason for rotating the wheel away from the edge? I would think this would result in a wire edge which then gets honed off, resulting in a rougher point where the wire edge used to be?

There seems to be a plant in your engine bay, not sure if you noticed or not... @ 2:30
