Clemens could be a fine spinner of tales at times and at other times his own worst enemy when he lets his penchant for excess loquaciousness and overblown, convoluted Victorian prose devolve into self indulgent, gobbledeegook gunk that is decidedly not literature. He wasn't always good at self-editing, as can be seen in a couple of these ramblings.
