Advice for people, don’t cheat the test. When you’re reviewing or nominating pokestops you will want to know the criteria. It can have a negative affect on your profile.
  • @Your_a_idiot
Me just watching seeing if i can make my living room a poke stop:
  • Keep in mind the stops will NOT be accepted in 3 days time usually. It's closer to 6 months depending on how many people are reviewing in the area.
  • A couple of things to note is that by reviewing you get a great understanding of what to do and what not to do when nominating. You'll see some pretty bad nominations and some that make you think a lot before accepting them. If you do something like 500 reviews, take your time and make sure you look up if it's acceptable criteria, you'll be a pro at nominating. Another thing is that you don't HAVE to Appeal one if it got rejected. I've had a couple that were rejected and I nominated them again, one with a better photo and another with much better supporting information, and they went through the second time. Also Daxi already said it in the video but the Discord is a really valuable resource. When I have a reviewing or submitting question that I can't find the answer to online I go there and they are great help.

Tip: don’t appeal if you want it to get reviewed fast. Just nominating it again is way faster then waiting on niantic to handle your appeal.
  • I’ve literally thought about making some Pokémon themed sculpture or statue and placing it in my nearby park with approval to try and get them to put a poke stop or gym there, this helps a ton
  • Sooo some tips on my side, since I have plenty of experience and a ton of successful stops all around my country. First, don't hesitate to try out horizontal and vertical photos - usually what works best for the nomination photo is vertical, especially after the crop for the smaller sized pokestop circle (which is what most people will see). On the contrary - for support photo I HEAVILY recommend doing a horizontal photo, even switching to wide angle photo, since the goal is to make the audience most aware of the actual location, so you might want to include as much as possible in the photo. Another photo related tip - if you are in a location which does not have access from google street view perspective (like a park, area behind a house, area obstructed by trees or cars on the street view) you street view to create and post a 360 sphere - it is easy and fast to do and will help a TON reviewers to check the percise location and approve your nomination. Describe if your location is not 100% percise - use the opportunity to tell your votes when your nomination is not 100% accurate - explain what is the reason and where the actual location is. Usually, it is pretty acceptible to move the location slightly in order to place it in a free cell. Even by official Niantic standards, it is fine to have a few meters offset from the original location. And to be honest, this is a REALLY common thing I see. So describe and be friendly to the community, who is going to read it! Last but not least - learn your community's standards. At the end, even if Niantic have rules, the ones which decide your nomination are the users so go and check what kind of nominations are accepted by your community and try to fit to those standards. It might not be the most politically correct thing to say but often the community accepts interesting things which are not 100% compliant with the official Niantic terms. And this is fine. At the end, at least for that we truly have a vote and can impact a change, right :)

Anyone having issues w/ the android link? If you can even call it that? looks like it's missing some HTTPS info Poki Daxi
  • great vid dax, hit all the points. Also what a great park, might have to check it out sometime
  • Living in a rural area I find the criteria for even nominating good Pokestops are really hard. We have no public art, parks, fountains, librarys, churches, public playgrounds or any such. We have great mountain- and lake views and rolling farmland. The only two Pokestops in my village are down by the lake along a road unaccessable in wintertime (November-May) unless on snowmobile. I really wish Niantic would be more lenient on what's considered a good Pokestop in the countryside. There are plenty of beautiful trails for hiking around here but no signs for them to use as a Pokestop. Also to be able to play Pokemon GO in wintertime Pokestops need to be accessible by car since the cellphones have a tendency to shut off from the cold when out walking. Standing outside in -25 to -35 degrees Celsius trying to take down a Gym won't work. 😕
  • @raiiii
Thank you so much for giving the knowledge of the Ingress ITTC map viewer. I just cancelled one of my nominations because I think it actually would have overlapped with another that was close to it. This video might be the most helpful and useful piece of Pokestop nomination knowledge out there.
  • @-zoro-7876

  • @fafoinnernet
