  • Just a fun fact for everyone: Military bows, especially from 1000AD onwards, are often 100lb and up. The draw weight of the Mary Rose longbows is variously estimated; the estimate of their average draw weight is about 130lb. A surviving Mongol conquest-era bow is estimated at 166lb. Surviving Ottoman military bows average over 100lb.
  • Its crazy to think that old English archers used to draw warbows with up to 120 lbs draw with no cams or trigger release. Straight up beastin' it!
  • I told my son, once he goes to full draw with my bow he can have it. I have to get a new bow now. 95lbs pull. Kids a savage. Good job young man.
  • @EmbodiedMan
The dad looks really proud even before he tries to pull it back. You can see how happy he is that his son has gone this far

I remember my grandpa used to pull 98lbs he’s in his late 80s now and just gifted me his bow the other day on our way hunting he hands it to me and says merry Christmas that will be the bow I use for the rest of my life
  • @KOken100x
The sound that bow made when he fully pulled it back sounds eerily similar to the sound my shoulder made when i blew it outta socket 😭
  • its crazy to think that back in the day 90 pound bows were pretty normal and the best trained archers for war could use 200 pound warbows.

My dad is 73 this May, he’s always talked about how old timers would say when a man is fully mature he has “settled strength”. Perfectly exemplified in this video
  • Anybody ever go down the rabbit hole of how jacked old longbow users were
  • @JigsawJoe13
As someone that has shot Archery for 25 years... Never needed it higher then 55 pounds for Dropping deer or shooting 3d competition
  • @rrochs
"I kinda felt it going" haha. Love these vids
  • @jonbohn3854

  • @terrymaverick580
Meanwhile to be in ghengis khans army you needed to be able to pull 160lb bow with only your thumb while riding a horse as fast as possible
  • That leather jacket doesn't appear to be helping😂😂
  • @jizim8947
cool dad, my dad was an addicted gambling alcoholic
  • @natesofla8891
Hey just cherish those special moments with your dad because those are irreplaceable and the way he looks at you with sheer pride and admiration. Those are the best. I have two sons of my own. I hope they know how much I love them and how proud I am of them.
  • @crabmannyjoe2
This feels insignificant after watching that guy who uses a 165 pound long bow. 😂
  • He has his left arm locked. You should be pushing with your left and pulling with the right at the same time
