Superficially, the Tarot is little more than an elaborate card game: a pack of 78 cards said to be able to divine the future. And yet, the cardsā€™ history is long and rich, far longer and far richer than one might expect for a mere game, with their purpose rumoured to encompass the deepest secrets of human enlightenment, eternal and universal truths which were encoded into symbols and passed down from the time of the Ancients, all of which makes the Tarot not merely a frivolous way to guess the future, but a paranormal gateway to ancestral knowledge and thus all the mysteries of the universe...

A decade ago, when I was getting ready for a big move and life change, I had my best friend, who is a fellow neo-pagan, do a wheel of the year reading for me. The result was accurate, down to the month, of what transpired that year. I also asked how I would do, in several personal matters, and the Death reversed card kept getting pulled (which can mean positive change) three times, no matter how well she shuffled the cards. I have a deep respect for the cards, now. Sometimes I have a question for my own deck, but I mainly meditate with them. They have a very positive energy that is hard to articulate. That's just my simple story.
  • I've been a tarot reader for almost 20 years and it works on so many levels: self reflection; a creative thinking tool; and a means to forecast (NOT FORETELL) what is likely to happen if current circumstances continue. It all works. Great video and one of the few neutral takes on the subject.

My wife has a few tarot decks and they've always been weirdly accurate at predicting the future. This one time we were at the end of our tether after having gone through a year of hell and she pulled out the tarot deck looking for some good news, what she got was a warning of an imminent disaster of some kind. She brushed it off thinking ''how much worse could things get?'', two days later I hit black ice and broke my spine.
  • The Hanged Man is my card. Anytime I 'cut' a deck it is always the first card I draw and it keeps appearing in my life over and over. I have studied it but it is still a mystery to me. The man is never depicted to be in pain, in fact he usually appears amused or even happy, as if seeing the world from upside down has given him a true insight into the nature of reality that only he can see.
  • Thank you for creating yer another magnificent video! As a professional Tarot reader with more than 30 years' experience, I must say that you did the Tarot justice. I cannot think of even one other video, film, or television treatise on the Tarot that has presented the subject matter as thoughtfully and comprehensively as you did. As always, your approach to your topic was respectful and intelligent, and these are qualities of great rarity in these times. Once again, I thank you. --N

I love how the things on your table always represent the topic of your videos. Awesome
  • @britpoppansy
Laura, you are quite the wordsmith! You always explain these subjects in such depth. Thank you! <3
  • Gotta say, i'm really digging these dives into more spiritual and occult topics. This and the Ouija board one have been so interesting to watch. I read Tarot and still learnt a lot with this video. Great job! I'm really looking forward to more.
  • Love this one! I feel like this was the first truly neutral look into this topic. Either other videos make them out to be purely evil or so magical that you can hardly think to question how powerful they are. So, thank you for this video.
  • Tbh any kind of playing cards are useful in divination, if one has a system and understanding of the art. But the artistic symbolism of tarot made it very fitting for divination... It was also a precursor to trading card games.

Lady Laura your objective look at all things paranormal and spiritual is so refreshing. Nearly 95% +/- other channels are set on proving or disproving the subject matter at hand, while you present the facts that you are able to get, which are always impressive, and deliver them to us with a no side taken style. And all the while your videos entrance me into not hearing anything outside of your voice. So I thank you for bringing us the information that you do. And hopefully youā€™ll continue as Iā€™ll definitely continue to be here as long as I can to listen! šŸ‘
  • @izzy574
Excellent video on the topic of Tarot cards. I am a certified tarot reader who trained at Biddy Tarot. As a student there we were taught to use and interpret the cards from a psychological perspective which lines up with C.G. Jung and his thoughts on the archetypes. Tarot is a fascinating topic because of its many ways that people can interpret the cards, though there are traditional meanings. And yes, the pictures on the cards themselves are very insightful. šŸ‘ā˜ŗ

Tarot is very powerful and they never lie. Sometimes I have ignored their warnings but it comes true. You have to take protection first before using as your are dealing with energies on another level.
  • @AndersWatches
I have a The Wild Unknown tarot deck. The art is so beautiful.
  • @6Haunted-Days
Almost scared to watch this! I LOVE your channel. But Iā€™ve been a tarot student, reader and collector for 36yrs!!! Itā€™s my ONE TRUE PASSION!! I have over 1,200 decks and counting ā€¦. So Iā€™m a bit worriedā€¦.cuz so many try to make it something IT IS NOT. And lie or play pretend with itā€™s historyā€¦. But youā€™re always so straightforward and non gimmicky that I have faith ā€¦so here goesā€¦..šŸ‘»ā¤ļø

The cards seem to offer those who can recognize the patterns, a reflection of sorts. A snapshot of the vibrations all around us.
  • @hollyisbored
I worked with Tarot card for about 20 years when I was younger. For me, it was never about seeing somone's future. It was about getting a better understanding of the influences and possible paths of their present. I was, sometimes unfortunately, more accurate than they ever wanted to hear. And I never could sugar-coat anything; I'm just too blunt for that. But, later in life, I also discovered that the cards are just a tool to focus what we already possess in ourselves. I could use a brand new deck of playing cards, a handful of coins, or sometimes just a candle flame to see and feel the same things. Looking back on it, the tarot cards were just a more colorful, more complex tool, but still just a tool. No more mystical or magical than anything else. Today I no longer work with divination in any form, for a multitude of reasons. But I still collect tarot sets and display them on my walls for their beauty.
  • @TheFos88
Fantastically made. Even I as one who personally believes in the mystical have largely seen the tarot as more of a therapeutic sort rather than magical. As an amateur Jungian as well I was very pleased with you mentioning him and his thoughts on archetypes. First book I read from him was Man and His Symbols where he and a couple others explore these concepts in easy to understand depth.

Lady Laura , Thank you for the amazing deep dive into this topic. Your videos inspire me to do further research as well. Be safe and be well.
