FullHD vs 4K Projector ( Do You Really Need 4K ? )

Published 2023-01-06
4K gives extra sharpness and like I told you in the video lens quality is also quite important. FullHD is still good enough for 100" size.

00:00 How I will test the projectors
02:03 4K-FullHD Compare Footage

Dont forget to watch this video with keeping in mind
This was not a 2 projector comparison because

Optoma UHD 35 is 2-3 times more expensive than LG HF60LS

My focus was about sharpnes how good the image looks like if you go 4K
specially sharpness

Go fo 4K When
- you have budget enough
- if you are not going to TV + Projector Setup Like Me
if it's going to be only device at home
- Size is more than 100"" go for 4K
- 4K gaming console and gaming is important
than you have to pay for that
- if you are professional photographer and designer and your eyes are sharp on every detail and you are pixel peeping than go 4K

Go For Full HD When
- Budget is important limit
- you are just casual consumer using time to time
- you are more of a tv person
- your console is full hd like PS4 or Xbox One
- screen size is 100" or less

You can ejoy both of the choices when you have projector in your life 😊

Good job, new subscriber here, and thank you for the nice comparison between full hd and 4k. I have two long throw LED projectors and one UST laser projector, both of them are 1080p. Eventually I'm thinking about 4k projector but since the biggest image I can project in my living room is just only 92" so full hd projectors are just find. Recently ordered the Formovie S5 laser 1080p projector and exited to test it for my bedroom.

Can you comment on a 4k budget TV @ 70-75 inches versus a 1080p projector at 85 inches in a fully darkened room sitting 11-12 feet away? I can basically get a 70" onn QLED or 75" onn LED tv for 70% the price of a 1080p HT2060 projector and I am unsure of picture quality of these cheaper tvs in terms of black level and colour reproduction. I would be turning the backlight way down to protect my eyes in my small projector room. Unfortunately I cannot try these tvs out, they are too big to return. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

You did a great job showing the real difference in resolution. On an 83 inch TV you can see the sharpness difference. Sometimes you could live with full HD but sometimes you can see it more. However, I think that on a 135-inch screen, Fill HD would not make a good impression. Watching the image on such a large screen, good sharpness emphasizes realism.

I really appreciate what you covered in this video. I agree about a 1080p with a google dongle. The image can look great. Whereas when I watch my cable tv through my projector, the video quality is awful, very much like 720p.

Merhaba, videoda 1080p olanın renkleri daha canlı görünüyor. Gerçekte gör görünyüde öylemiydi ? Tam da optoma uhd35x alacakken bu videonuzu gördüm.

I can notice the sharpness difference, but it's a very hard comparison video because but the colors are so bad on the Optoma it's distracting. The highlights are all blown out. The LG just looked better overall.

The 1080p looks completely good for me, even more cinematic.

Leaving aside resolution - the left side image is FAR more pleasing than the right side. Soft, natural colours on the left, harsh digtial oversharpening on the right.
  • @psydoc2871
I have noticed that black colour appears more naturally black on Full HD as compared to 4K projector. Is it normal?
  • @kazimkhan5879
The details are better on the optoma while the colors are far better on the LG
  • The optomas are much worse. You have to Dial down the blue Light. Thats extrem. But in your Video it Hardly Makes a difference
  • @calverozara8540
Hi, I have a complex question to ask you. What happens when you use the Optoma UHD35 4K projector using a Full HD signal? I'll try to explain myself better. Does a 4K projector that receives a Full HD signal risk projecting a poorer quality video than a Full HD projector that receives a Full HD signal? My question is legitimate, since only in these days I have the opportunity to buy the UHD35, but for some time I will not have an amplifier that allows me to read a 4K signal and, unfortunately, I cannot exclude the amplifier since I absolutely need to listen to the audio in 5.1 and I cannot directly connect my PS5 directly to the HHD35, but it must necessarily pass through the amplifier which does not accept signals higher than FULL HD. Thank you kindly if you want to answer me and excuse my English, I am Italian and I use a simultaneous translator. A thousand thanks
