The Backyard | S1 EP1 - The Great Northern Road Trip

~ The Great American Road Trip ~

Ah, the Bighorn Mountains! Stomping ground of icons and outlaws. Bastion of frontier history. Playground for the wild at heat. An epic, untrammeled alpine kingdom. Our friends at the Forest Service say that “no region in Wyoming is provided with a more diverse landscape - from grasslands to alpine meadows, clear lakes to glacially-carved valleys and rolling hills to sheer mountain cliffs.”

There’s so much to see, do and experience out here, that when our crew set out to create a TV show about the Bighorn Mountains and Sheridan County, we were immediately struck by a serious quandary; where do we begin?

Lucky for us, Bighorn Mountain Country offers some of the greatest road trip experiences in America.

In this, the debut episode of The Backyard, our new streaming series, we invite you to come along with us on the Great Northern Road Trip, as we travel from historic downtown Sheridan to visit mighty waterfalls, explore endless canyons, brush up on long forgotten history, and much more.

Along the way, we’ll help to keep you safe with information and resources related to local health guidelines and regulations. Because when we’re all happy and healthy, we’re all having a good time.

Special thanks to our title sponsor Fremont Toyota. And to our partners at the Forest Service.

Check back tomorrow, when we’ll announce our first scavenger hunt, presented in partnership with photofind.me – watch our show, and win awesome prizes from local businesses!

Loved the coverage! Got some kids in NC who will visit next summer, so I hope they are tuning in to The Backyard.
  • We went to porcupine falls in the winter a few years ago- it was pretty neat! We parked the snowmobiles up top and hiked down but some people do ride down there. We still haven’t made it to bighorn reservoir- looks neat!
