Keeping a blue crab from the grocery store has been something I've wanted to do for quite a while, and it turned out being even more fun than I thought! :)

Man, crabs are funny. Gotta love how they both have a unique personality

He’s doing what all of us wanted to do as a kid 🥲

What gets me is that these crabs were so still and accepting of defeat that they didn't even try to resist. They really thought they were goners, but as soon as they realize they were just getting a new, safe, home, their personalities absolutely skyrocketed with happiness

Dang. I have never seen frogs that seem so defeated.

I love how the crabs have different personalities, like brulee is the big bossy sister and custard is the fragile quiet little brother

This made me realize just HOW wholesome crabs are

"Experiments in bees, crabs, and octopuses show that some invertebrate animals can learn from painful experiences, have positive and negative emotion-like states, and might even experience a range of other emotions beyond pain and pleasure."
  • First video I've seen of yours and it absolutely blew my mind to see two crabs that we look at as mere food objects suddenly come to life and have such distinct and animated personalities, almost to the level of dogs and cats. They actually seem to be great pets! Watching this video has been a profoundly eye opening experience for me.

The sad thing about octopus is their so smart and some are willing to be friendly but they have such a short lifespan that they always leave you broken hearted.

I have ALWAYS hated those grocery story tanks, even as a dumb kid I could tell those lobsters/crabs were cramped, unhealthy and depressed.

I love the blue crabs. They are beautiful animals. When they mold, they hide under the sand.

I love when you save animals you save them from being eaten. Love your videos.

All these rescued from a grocery store pet videos make me realize how much better we need to be doing to raise food animals. Even if all you care about is eating them, they have to taste better when they are healthy.
  • 4:53 You could say that blue crabs like bubbles so much because it helps them aerate their gills and kinda clean up sand or gunk that could possibly be stuck in their gills or on their body.

Who needs The Deep when they have you. Doing more than he ever did 💀

An octopus is intelligent and usually only lives two years. It would be interesting to have as a short-term pet.
