One of the best and most useful knots I've ever known. The funny part is.. it's not a knot.. it's a hitch!

This is an in depth tutorial on the Rolling Hitch, and practically every example I that I would realistically use this for.

A Great knot / hitch for Camping, Prepping, Bushcraft and Survival and ofcourse everyday life!

In this tutorial video, you'll learn how to tie a bowline knot, a versatile knot that can be used in a variety of situations including camping, survival, bushcraft, and general life skills and knowledge. The bowline knot is also known as the king of knots because of its strength and reliability. Whether you're tying a knot for fishing, securing your shelter, or just need to tie something securely, the bowline knot is a valuable skill to have in your knot-tying arsenal. In this video, we'll also touch on other popular knots like the clove hitch, square knot, and reef knot, as well as different types of rope and cordage like nylon, sisal, and macrame cord. So, whether you're a seasoned knot-tying expert or a beginner, this video is perfect for anyone looking to improve their knot-tying skills and learn valuable survival knots.

The following knots, hitches, and bends are in this video. I break them down into Anchor knots, Tension knots, mid-line knots, and binding knots.
You'll find the Zeppelin bend - or 69 knot, The Sheet bend and Double sheet bend, the Bowline, (Anti-Bowline or Eskimo knot), the Evenk Hitch (Siberian Hitch), Taut-Line Hitch (Magnus Hitch, Midshipman Hitch, and Rolling Hitch), Truckers Hitch ( Auto-Locking Truckers Hitch), The Prusik knot, Alpine Butterfly, Constrictor Hitch and Canadian Jam knot (Quick Release Jam Knot).

I tie all these knots with Paracord, and they are considered Survival knots, bushcraft knots and camping knots. I explain the use of a Bight, round turn, hitch, and bend.

Wether you want to learn how to tie down a tarp, how to set up a tent, what to do with a fray or cut in your rope, or how to join two ropes together - this is the guide for you!

The neat part is, when I would actually need to tie this knot, I won't remember how to.
  • @spodefollower
Commenting so the algorithm knows I want more knot-tube
  • @metal_anomaly
Ah yes, the rare youtube short that actually teaches a useful skill with absolutely no bs, love to see it
  • Thank you. I've always wanted to know how to tie these different knots, or hitches. I'm 64; never to old to learn!
  • @usaturnuranus
Dang. Grabbed the most plastic, slippery, cheap cord I have, tied this knot around an upright chrome metal tube on a drum stand - it locked right in place. New skill level for me.
  • @gluehoof573
I knew it was a rolling hitch. Learnt it in my Fire & Rescue Service. Love it.
  • @OmnipresentPotato
Have been using it for my sweatpants for a long time. Much easier than untying and tying every time I have to go to the bathroom. Thanks lots!
  • @lestagez
I hope in an apocalypse we still have YouTube for this
  • @racebiketuner
Thanks. This will work great for supporting tomatoes. No need to untie/re-tie as they grow.

At one point in my life, I worked as a maid on a boat. I Learn, new knots and how to use them correctly to secure a load. This is one that I was not taught, nor have I crossed this one before in my life. I appreciate the knowledge and I know I will be using it soon.
  • @Orpilorp
I learned my first knot in Girl Scouts; the square knot. As a crocheter, there are many knots and adjustable loops as well. Knots are fascinating to me. Thanks.
  • You have some of the best knot videos I have seen, clear and concise in both the images and words. A lot of video visuals are clear enough about how to tie the knot, but have nothing about where it would be useful.
  • @ronjon5386
I been using this knot for years. My dad showed me how to do it. It’s great for tying down lumber and other Home Depot purchases
  • @pedroa.3834
Petition to change the name of this channel to "knot channel" so we can easily find it when we all need it.
  • @tygrahof9268
I use this knot/hitch to hold power lines while I install new services on homes!
  • @scottcates
Useful for relieving an overridden sheet.
  • I love the rolling hitch for sweat pants as I don't want the tie with bows which will undoubtedly become undone, yet hate needing to pee & not being able to untie traditional knots. Great hitch! Looks complicated to the novice, but versatile & useful for the initiated.
  • This works; can confirm! And not only that, but it's also way easier to remember and do than any other hitch or knot I've learned besides the granny knot and square knot (and those are so simple that kids use them all the time on accident! 🤣🤣). The side loop on my backpack broke a bit ago, so I used this hitch to tie it and the adjustable hanging-strap-thingy together so I had my loop back. It's been so nice to have a side-loop again!
