One day I was having lunch in the local East Indian restaurant in a strip mall in Calgary. Calgary is run by East Indians now. Beside me a small group of four were having lunch . It was a new business owner with lawyer , accountant and business advisor maybe banker all East Indian. They were explaining to the new business owner how to operate and get around paying tax. Basically Mafia - organized illegal stuff. East Indians don’t pay taxes.

  • Value-Added Tax Calculation : (Post-02) With a 15% VAT : The manufacturer spends ($1 × 1.15) = $1.15 for the raw materials, and the seller of the raw materials pays the government $0.15. The manufacturer charges the retailer ($1.20 × 1.15) = $1.38 and pays the government ($0.18 minus $0.15) = $0.03, leaving the same gross margin of ($1.38 – $1.15 – $0.03) = $0.20. The retailer charges the consumer ($1.50 × 1.15) = $1.725 and pays the government ($0.225 minus $0.18) = $0.0405, leaving the same gross margin of ($1.725 – $1.38 – $0.0405) = $0.3045.
