Ivan Demidov is looking to be EXACTLY what Montreal needed! What are YOUR thoughts on Demidov's game? And how good do YOU see him being for Montreal? Let us know!! #GravGang

All you have to do is trust Nick Bobrov. He is the head of scouting for Eastern Europe. His father works for SKA so he has inside knowledge of what is going on in Russia. He made several trips to Russia to talk to Demidov and his parents and it went well from what rumors have said. Remember Michkov played for SKA like Demidov and Bobrov did the exact same thing. Traveled to Russia to talk to Michkov and his parents. For whatever reason Bobrov got the wrong vibe with Michkov and didn't value him that high. So Montreal passed on him. What did happen is that Montreal did draft two Russian prospects in Bogdan Konyushkov a Right shooting defenseman who is on the top pair for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod and plays like 30 minutes a night. The next prospect is a goaltender in 6'3'' Yevgeni Volokhin who this recent season had stats very reminiscent of a young Andrei Vasilevskiy. This year Montreal drafts another two Russians in Ivan Demidov and Makar Khanin who they are calling Demidov Light. We'll see about the second part but I trust Nick Bobrov and his knowledge of what is going on in Russia, especially in SKA.

Nick Bobrov is such a GOAT man. Insane asset to have him in your organisation, AND his list of contacts (SKA sure, but there is sooo much more than that man). I have no doubt that we'll get other Eastern Euros players that will want to play in MTL.
  • @davidsine1222
If Demidov played in the CHL he would have put up huge points
  • I really like Hage. As a Sabres fan, I'm not happy that Montreal got both Demidov and Hage.
  • @ak27killa
has a habs fan ..demidov is the savior
  • I do agree, it’s hard to find a player comparison for Demidov, but he is reminiscent of one of my favorite players to watch growing up, Alexei Kovalev. It’s exciting to potentially have a duo that looks like Kovalev and Bergeron in Demidov and Suzuki. Demidovs ability to handle the puck, combined with his offensive awareness and passing can end up being a complete game changer for the Habs, and now imagine all the other prospects with unique attributes that can make them such a fun team to watch.
  • Chantal Machabée is a media genius. She comments when necessary. She leaves the smoke screens at the right time. Even teaches lessons to the sometimes impatient ch fan.

…except Arpon Basu who said months ago that Montreal have had interest in Demidov for a very very long time. Something confirmed by Hughes and Bobrov after the draft.
  • @Polaflamme
The amount of Fake account in the comments is crazy 😅😂
  • @stevenst6337
Montreal is building something special, they already got lots of good pieces at the NHL level. Suzuki, Caufield, Slafovsky, Dach, Newhook, Montembeault, Guhle, etc. And a solid propsect pool of guys like Demidov, Hage, Mailloux, Hutson, Reinbacher, a goalie prospect in Fowler. This team is going to be insane I have no doubt.
  • Outside of Montreal there was some smoke and mirrors, but local hockey insiders were saying Demidov was their guy a couple of days before the draft.
  • @steeler23
I'm wondering, because I'm pretty sure almost everyone was penciling Demidov to Montreal and when they predicted someone else, it was because Demidov was going somewhere in their top-4. Maybe I'm remembering wrong?
  • @philipcollard23
Amazing video, I honestly just want Dach to stay healthy this season no matter what happens. It's so frustrating seeing him get injured 2 seasons in a row. Should we be worried abut how injury prone a guy like him is?
  • @zblip22
Don't forget about Hage. He's going to be a stud!
  • @darrenbrown1188
Demidov is going to be Montreal first superstar forword in what 40 yrs
  • It always bothers me how some Americans say "Montreal". It's like they are pronouncing the "Mon" in the word "monster", instead of saying it like the "Mon" in the word "money". I know the french way of saying it is more like "Moreal". But saying it in english should sound more like "Munt-real" than "Mon-treal". Just doesn't sound right to me lol
