Hello everyone! For the first in what will be many of videos of me making things in the true 3d world (real life), I have decided to make a puppet head of a particular character.

This was originally going to be a one episode thing, but I decided that a two part episode would be more fitting.

Enjoy!

I've always wanted to learn how to do this. I wish there was a class but it's such a rare beautiful art.
  • You are a talented man and ive every confidence you will achieve what your aiming for. You have inspired me for sure. At first i thought you were talking the talk however when you got going you nailed it really fast. You can imorovise no doubt. I would love you to come up with a way to operate its mouth with your hand an fingers rotating the head and moving the mouth like your having a conversation.

Looks like it could be Robert De Niro with Marlon Brando's bald head at this point of the build.
  • Great job! I like la doll air dry clay it has a pink wrapper at Michaels or good art stores!

I want to build an Angie doll from the new resident evil game and I couldn't figure out how to make the mouth move and this video is exactly what I needed :D
  • So far , you seem to have done a great job with your bandsaw. I would have rather modeled plasticine clay over the Styrofoam head , than cut it up. That way it does not leave a mess of styrofoam remains. Then I would make a overlay mold of it.

Nice job. What did you use to cut that metal door hinge? I would to try making one of these.
  • nice, very cool and creative work man. I was wondering, would you possibly be interested in selling one of these or making another one. I'm going to be doing a batman fan film pretty soon and this would be perfect for the ventriloquist's scare face doll.
