At 9:36 I found myself looking at the corner of the street where I lived in the 50's and 60's..that building on the corner started out as a penny candy store and then became a pizza place where friends used to hang out in junior high...doesn't look so great now but back then it was a great neighborhood and a wonderful place to grow up!
  • I love Cleveland. I was just there last Monday and enjoyed every minute of it! Downtown Cleveland is awesome, and so is Edgewater Park. I did a little shopping at Asia Plaza too.

Great W. side video!! Grew up in East Cleveland in the 50"s until the 70's. Saw a lot of Big jazz artists at the East Town Motel around E 140 and Euclid Ave. Dizzy, Joe Williams, Jimmy Smith, Dinah Washington, came in to jam one night with Joe Williams many local jazz people and on and on. Small club held about 90 to 125 people at a time. Had an indoor swimming pool behind the glass it the lounge/bar area and a small stage. Also Leos Casino on E. 75th where you could see every top R&B group in the country and home to the local O'Jays. Little Anthony and the Imperials Marvin Gay, Temps. one hit wonder Bobby Hebb, Shirelles, the 4 Tops Sly and the Family Stones best live show I have ever seen to this day and I'm pushing 78 years old. Thank for the memories. Great video of the W. side. Oh don't forget the burgers at the 25 th. and Loranin Farmers Market.

Andrew, you are astute in pointing out that Northeasterners might like Cleveland for its culture and relatively low housing costs. I say astute because Cleveland is more of an eastern city than many people realize. You recognize that which gives you credibility with your following.

  • Do the flats still exist. My only time in Cleveland was in 1994. We spent one night out in the flats and it was an amazingly fun place to go do a bit of partying.....

I don't want to talk about me, sometimes is hard to fight with this kind of situation, i really know how hard it is, so expensive, but when god give to you a chance, you know you have to take it, or you won't be able to fight again.

Isn't that where they had some decrepit shopping malls like Schuylkill? I saw videos of urban explorers in the abandoned Wal-Mart and other stores.
