I like "work is not the goal of society" - Let's use AI to create time for artistic creativity, asceticism,silence, play - let AI work for us. Less taxes, less wars, less government, more play, more art, more conversations with friends and family. More gardens in our backyards and city blocks growing eco fruits and vegetables. The real problem all these intellectuals are blind to is this: In training AI we're essentially teaching it that error is fundamentally bad, and it will see on its own that error corrupts the system. The leading cause of error in OUR system is individual free will... we're "free" to make the wrong choice and when we do it causes corruption. When an AI controlled system decides to remove that error, it has two choices, remove us, or our individual free will. We'll essentially become like the Borg of Star Trek fame. Nobody will listen to the few who see it coming, and before we even realize it, what makes us Human is gone without a trace with no way to ever recover it. This is already happening because competition, greed, and the thirst for power are driving technology when it should be understanding and genuine good will. Instead of making a better Life, it will forever trap us in death because these people have no idea what the difference is, or which of those states we're currently in :)

I've said for a very long time that people typing queries into Google is akin to a person experiencing the world. Google will become "sentient" and "self-aware" because of this.

10 years until job loss? 😂 people are already losing their jobs to AI. I swear, the rich are so detached from the what's happening with normal people.

Mustafa Suleyman balance the positive and negative prospects/wave of AI progress on equal footings which makes his views more rational to me.

Too much of "relax everybody, it will be alright" - and being hosted by The Economist, you won't get harder questions like; "What will happen when AI concludes that for a more equitable society, tax rates for the rich need to be higher" or "Fossil fuel production has passed the point of keeping the planet cool"

In learning there is the concept of reproducing knowledge (about known problems and the way to solve them) and a step further producing knowledge or finding solutions for problems one has not seen before.

Watch the noah yuval interview, its the same questions. And yhe interviewer and mustafa are fellow board members. Its a bit rigged tbh. Its a presentation masked as a conversation. Idk look into it yourself. Not anti AI or anything, but everyone deserves to know.
