This was the episode that convinced me this show was something else

The change in body language Roman has when his father tells him what to do is such brilliant acting by Culkin. You can see the contrast of how he usually acts verses the way he reacts to his dad.

Kendall did nothing wrong here, there were two things out of his control that led to him failing. 1. The random terrorist threat preventing him from taking the helicopter and 2. Logan staying in the room during the vote which is highly illegal and should have never happened.

i dont think its completely fair to say that it was a stupid decision by Kendall to go over and convince her, he knows whats at stake so he could not afford to leave anything to chance and he knows how fickle these snakes are, if hes able to take that chopper back like he assumed he would he might’ve taken his father down right then and there thanks to the vote he got from her

When he starts calling him Romulus and Roman breaks down😮that’s the moment that always stands out for me. In that moment he turns back into a little boy and can’t stand up against his father.

This was the first “ok this show is special” episode. It only gets stronger

One of my favorite scenes was when that music started to play. Kendall looked so lost.

1x6 is definitely in my top 5 list of Succession episodes...such a wild ride this one!

To answer 20:12, I'd say a lot of siblings who grow up in abusive households can grow up to have a relationship/sibling bond where you will hate them and fall out with them for the most random things (stemming from whatever past issues) but also defend them against a common force (when not including the abuser so like Roman cannot choose to stand by Kendall if Kendall is going against his father in front of their father despite being aware that objectively, that is his best bet)

Them saying this will be one of Kendall’s biggest setbacks 😅 just you wait…

Even if Kendall made that trip to Ilona's, had Logan been out of the room they would've most likely won the vote. He obviously took the helicopter under the assumption that he'd make a quick detour and be back right on time, like he couldn't have predicted the terrorist threat lmao And facetiming someone can be pretty impersonal if you know the person could've visited you, like we do not know that a phone call or a facetime would've swayed Ilona the way the visit did

Love the rate you're pumping these! I think that's the thing about Kendall is he doesn't always make the best decisions and isn't always a great communicator 1:1, when Roman can be, so like when he fails (like the call) or struggles to articulate himself it's very much in his character. Like sure he's got strokes of brilliance and some experience but his dad takes up so much room he's been made that little bit smaller - ugh love this show and it only gets better from here!

As much as Kendell messed up, everyone else failed him by simply being chicken shit. Roman of course number 1, Gerri just being unreliable same way she covered her own ass at the ball. I mean she after all pushed for this as well after thanksgiving. His brother Ewen being the world's biggest hypocrite as he could have easily got one over Logan but he values the empire Logan runs which ensures he still has that shares working for him. Frank was the only real one there. I think this terrorist threat was a real outlandish reason for him to not get there by any normal metric. I mean the guy has a helicopter. No way he would lose to traffic in any other scenario.

Everyone is on the top of their game on this show, but Brian Cox in this episode is something else.

The first 6 episodes of this show are incredible. I don’t care what anyone says. Lays the perfect ground work for this masterpiece episode. We fully know all the characters by this point.
