For all Carnatic Music lovers Presenting Carnatic Classical Devotional Songs -"Thyagaraja Aradhana - Popular Tyagaraja Keerthanalu

Thyagaraja is the musical legend for the Telugu Devotional Songs musical genre. According to the history Thyagaraja’s prosperous grandfather, who was the great poet and scholar, dumped his native hometown and moved to Thanjavur and then to Tiruvarur where the royal patronage was extended to all literary scholars and artists of repute. Thyagaraja became so famous that over the years, several accounts of his personality, life, and works have been produced. Every year, according to the thidhi of Thyagaraja’s death anniversary, there is weeklong festival, when musicians pay their homage to the Saint by singing his compositions. On the Aradhana Day the “Pancharatna kritis” are rendered in accord by all the artistes, in the ragas “Nattai, Gowlai, Arabhi, Varali and Sri”. All the five are Ghana ragas. Tyagaraja had followed this during his lifetime.

This album “Thyagaraja Aradhana or Tyagaraja Keerthanalu” is the homage to the legend. The renditions of these songs are flawless and beautiful. Especially songs like “Bala Kanaka Maya” deserve a special mention.

All South Indian state governments must teach Carnatic music basics in schools as mandatory class.

By listening his keertana we feel heaven. Imagine the state of mind of the Great Saint Thyagaraja. It is a flow after full immersion about Rama. Every cell of his breath Rama. Lord Rama also delayed his darshan to extract more from the saint :-). Probably he might have not composed his kirtanas consciously. . It might have flown from his heart n soul out of total surrender to Rama. What a noble soul. Blessed to born in South India and lucky to hear his keertanas.

  • Music is beyond the barriers of language, region and religion. And a devotional music is pure spiritual at that. It has universal appeal. Knows no bounds whatsoever.

  • After having learned carnatic music for 7 years, it is safe to say that I am headlong deep into the magical world of Sri Thyagarajar and his beautiful compositions. I feel like he is just, sitting there and singing these songs with Lord Rama, Seetha and Lakshmanan looking on in secrecy from behind the shrine. I am a Palakkad Iyer but I decided to learn the basics of Telugu and some of the words being rooted to Samskritham helped a lot too! ❤️
  • Do not call him as Telugu Legend. He is the Legend of Carnatic music, he is owned and deeply respected by the people of South India. Born in Thanjavore Dt. I am very proud of him. He is my most respected musician.

In real life thiagarajaswamy struggled a lot. But genuinely speaking he attained the eternal peace by singing with utmost dedication to lord rama. Lord rama himself came to the thiagaraja swamy's home to bless him. Here language has nothing to do with. Please try to understant the pious life of thiagaraja swamy and salute him for his outstanding contribution to the divine world. Till the universe exists his name should be sung. I bow my head to the lotus feet of great thiagaraja swamy.
