It wasnt an oxygen destroyer in '54. It was a nuke. The oxygen destroyer didnt come into existence until after the Mutos became a problem.

I dont see the Destroyah oxygen destroyer happening. The monsterverse was pretty clear that Titans are not mutated animals, but they evolved naturally. The natural aspect of Titans seem to be the core of the monsterverse as a meta narrative. That these animals are forces of the natural world made manifest and sharing a world too small for them to openly compete with distracting the balance that keeps the planet habitable. It would be out of place to introduce that now.
