The expression on Jamie’s face when he realizes he’s been given “the signal” is priceless.

I LOVE how Jamie and Roy have found a common ground this season. They respect one another. Roy, for his knowledge. Jamie, for his golden leg.

what got me was Ted pulling “the signal” but trying to hide it with his jacket, maybe so that his son doesn’t see it 😭😂 Ted is too dang pure for this world 😂

What makes this scene even more amazing is that Phil actually made that goal! The reactions from the team is their genuine reaction to his goal.

Roy rolling his eyes when Jamie flips him off is my favorite part.

Notice that at 2:25 Ted pushes Nate to the side to hug Roy, and then Nate looks like he feels upset but he’s holding it in. Subtle foreshadowing to the finale.
  • Phil Dunster actually did this kick… no cgi. one of the producers released an iphone video from the sidelines.

Arlo White saying "fruity" is one of my favorite running gags in this show.

What most people miss here is Sam. Sam was shown to be the player who was the most upset that Jamie had rejoined the team. Since Jamie's gesture of "We're a team." with the censoring of the Dubai Air sponsorship logo, they have grown closer and it shows here. Sam's the one who gets Jamie back on his feet after the foul on Jamie and when the Tottenham player who fouls Jamie looks to start a fight, Sam is the one who storms in between Jamie and him and tries to stop (protect Jamie from) him. (also, Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) comes from a family of die-hard Tottenham supporters, so, this must've been a bit awkward to shoot this episode defeating Tottenham, I think?)

As a coach who commits 100% of my life to this, the way Jamie looks over his shoulder as he peels off his marker shows not only the writers and people above those care about football and making these footballers relatable to a football crowd but that the actors can legitimately play and that makes this show for so many audiences

I love that even though he doesnt like him Roy has 100% confidence in him.

The craziest part of this scene is the actor who plays Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster) actually hit this shot. I'm sure they expect to need to do some cutaways to make it look real but he hit the damned thing. A real pro goaltender would have stopped it but that doesn't make the shot any less amazing. I'm sure some of the reaction shots were the other actors real emotions at seeing it go in from that far away.

At 2:25 starts the first seed of doubt of Nate who is pissed that Roy Kent is getting the glory for calling that shot

I love that Ted tries to hide it behind his coat. Watched both season of this show in two days and I need ten more seasons IMMEDIATELY!!

His apparently getting this on the first take without having to resort to CGI really is impressive on so many levels and not just of the Sunday league variety. I'm imagining him so in character that it would have been like hypnosis and they'd have had to click fingers to get him out.

i literally love this scene. bc lasso holding up the finger and looking like a dog that’s done something wrong and jamie going :0 and then being very excited is such a pure interaction
  • @grimmashley8422
Only Ted Lasso could make a wholesome and emotional moment out of flipping the bird at someone

Note that Roy does not say “the little prick’s gonna TRY from there.” He says “the little prick’s gonna SCORE from there.” Even Coach Beard, a man of pure logic and reason, as a perfect balance to Ted’s unwavering positivity, says “it’s too far.” And he is perfectly familiar with how well Jamie can play..

1:46 Gotta love when Jammie reels himself back to kick that ball like a ballet dancer, and you can hear the ground shudder and shake with excitement.
