  • I do not consent to my tax dollars paying for someone else's student loans that they CHOSE TO take on
  • @Gid-J
It isn't forgivness, It is legalizing theft from hard working people.

How certain members of congress spends "our" money haphazardly on foolish programs really disgusts me.Rep. Chip Roy nails it on the head again, what a great voice for the people!
  • I paid for my kids to go to college. I was a single mom and it was hard, but I didn't want them to start life with a ton of debt. Is the government going to reimburse me? This whole idea just infuriates me.
  • @1elk
Students are in a mess because of the schools thinking their programs are worth 10-times more than what they are actually worth.
  • This is crazy, do you know how many of us went to work at 18 instead of college because we couldn't afford college? This administration is so backwards.
  • Chip Roy speaks common sense. Why can't more people in Washington be like him? He is for the people.
  • If this is allowed to stand, maybe EVERYBODY should start defaulting on their loans, and mortgages. I didn't go to college because I didn't have the money, and I didn't see a way to go to school, work, and afford to live. I've worked 40-60 hours a week since I was 17...that's 41 years. I got into trouble with credit cards at one time. I payed them off by not buying shit, and never going out. This is outrageous and BETTER not happen!
  • Chip Roy gets it right. I don't expect to ever hear this side of the argument on MSNBC or NPR.
  • College is not a right. If you cant afford it, dont go. Trade schools are cheaper with a high rate of return.

Thank you Chip Roy, for giving a voice to the people that don’t have the power the pulpit.
  • @moistikal
"Too bad" after he spilled his heart out describing his wife's struggles...That hit really hard
  • @jojopapa7521
That woman should be SECRETARY of education and housing. She knows government subsidy is the MOTHER of high cost of COLLEGE education and HOUSE PRICES!
  • Then there’s the people that work in a factory, or a refinery, working 12 hour shifts at times 60 hours a week and we foot the bill to this for these people that KNOWINGLY took out these loans. Unacceptable!!
  • @bjohnson2143
I was a single mom, that at 31 years went to college and got a degree in Computer Science. I got student loans. It took me 10 years to pay them back after I started working at 35. Let them pay their own loans back!
  • @ataylor3581
I worked hard to pay off my student loans. I worked 16 hours at the hospital for 4 years ! I am not obligated to pay for anyone's education!
  • Hell, no to taxpayers paying off student loans. The problem needs to be fixed at the schools, as well as educating people.

My daughter worked 2 job's in Nursing school and she paid her way 💯 % no loans she busted butt but she did it!!
  • My parents both were high school teachers who were paid low salaries for the 180 days (9 months) of instruction that was then divided into 12 months of salary since there are 3 summer months they were not paid for. My dad ALWAYS held a 2nd weekend and night job because their 2 salaries wouldn't support our very very middle class life. I took high school vocational courses and worked half days my Sr. year to help our family. I wanted to go to college but didn't have the funds and didn't want my parents to take on that expense. Vocational courses in high school and trade schools after are the best option for young people.
