As my review of Beastars continues into season 2; I have come to realize at a later time that this season (just like a deck of cards) has scenes shuffled all over the place and like the joker cards has some scenes (from the manga) discarded which does beg the question whether this is good or not for the story.

  • Two seasons were planned from the very beginning. I assume the decission how many episodes each season gets was decided back then as well. Legoshi already ruled out all the other dramaclub members by tasting their water bottles. Only one locker remained and that one contained a crushed water bottle as warning. I really wih they had made that thing look more like a bottle though. No idea how that passed the way it did. About the police investigation with a second murder, it's more like a second murder in the drama club narrows down the suspects from could be anyone, really to _hmm that's curious let's have a closer look at the carnivores in that club_. You are quite correct that the emotional attachment between Louis and the Shishigumi and especially Ibuki isn't quite all there the way it should be. The manga communicated that better. This season could have really used at least one more episod to flesh things out better.
  • I agree they could have done a lot more to keep the audience guessing on the identity of the murderer (even from the very start, the silhouette was a bit too clearly bear-like and the big bear occasionally seen looming in the background of some Drama Club scenes was quickly suspect #1 for me). That said, (26:47) I really like the way Legoshi confronts Riz about knowing he's the murderer. The calm way he says it reminds me a lot of the famous "I know it was you, Fredo. You broke my heart" scene from The Godfather Part II (especially with the sense of betrayal the speakers in both scenes express). The line is especially similar in the English dub as Legoshi says "I know it was you, Riz. You're Tem's killer." Jonah Scott really nailed the delivery, in my opinion.

Hello guys, I'm not going to make more Beastars related content anytime soon I just want to get back to making gaming videos. Like I said in the video this could change thank you and I'll see y'all again in the next one. Edit: There will be a part 3 review on Beastars, because I've recently learned season 3 will be the finale. So I hope y'all will look forward to it as I am. -Eric J. Campos
