  • It took me some trial/error to get the settings right but here is what I found... you will need to take a test shot first to make sure the capture creates a photo with good light balance. You may need to ramp up the iso to keep SS at 1/125 or higher but still allowing enough light sensitivity to create a useable image. I’ve used ss 1/125, iso 400-800 and f2.8 as a start then take one sample image and then turn on the trigger to capture lightning with MIOPS+ Smart

This might be added to my arsenal, it looks like a nice way to streamline the way photographs are taken and help minimize wasted snaps!
  • What setting do I need to have on my camera to use my MIOPS Smart+ I have a Nikon D5300.I am seeking advice on the Release Mode and or Remote Control. The manual is not very useful on that side of things.

I've done everything as per the instructions and I've missed out on 2 lightning storms. No pics, it doesn't fire. This Miops Smart won't even trigger in a dark room when I use my flash. Wheres the customer support??

So the difference between the MIOPS RemotePlus and the MIOPS Smart+ is that the Smart+ DOESN'T need a mobile phone?

still not been able to get a pic with this. can capture fine manually with BULB and cable release. MIOPS triggers and captures frames but all black. Set to Manual focus, focused to infinity, start at recommended sutter 1/125, f11 and iso 200 and then incrementally increase both F stop and ISO as the frames are black, still getting black frames, very frustrating, going back to to remote cable trigger and blub.
  • Bought brand new out of the box wouldn’t work. Not worth the money
