As a former crewleader for a blast and paint facility at a railyard where we'd strip, spray and re-stencil all kinds of rail cars...I can tell you that 4 hours is not that bad at all for laying down primer on a semi frame, especially considering that youre making due with what you've got and dont have a whole paint facility to work in. Solid work, Matt. 🍻

You are proof that the most important thing in getting something done is to get started.
-
Great choice on the grey color. It is so satisfying watching the old girl get restored and getting a fresh coat of paint.
-
Matt good to see you continuing work on the AutoCar When you got the Mac at auction the Mac will not replace the AutoCar for heavy hauling. Glad to see you hard at work on the older machines I am 92 year old viewer watching you work from day one You are one of a kind lov e tou

Yeah buddy, let's go! Based on the thumbnail, the OSHA Song needs to make an appearance!
-
This Autocar is looking better every time.
-
35 years ago I used to sandblast and prime antique and classic car frames and we used epoxy primer then, you will not have to worry about that frame for the rest of your life!😊
-
It’s a frame.Nobody should expect perfection.It’s fine.
-
Anyone ever think they’d hear Diesel Creek say “I need to close the doors quickly to preserve the AC in my shop”? 😂😂😂
-
My dad had Acars hauling coal here in W.V. I was raised riding in them, then driving. It makes me so happy to see you restoring this one! One of the toughest and best-driving trucks hauling coal back in the day. Mack had a tough truck but they didn't drive like an Autocar! I wish you could find the round bumper that came on them, I think that made the look of them.
-
For what that truck will be, I don't think it needs to be perfect, it just needs to be functional. It's definitely functional and it looks sharp, so it's a win!

I really enjoy watching the process and progress on most ALL of your projects. I was laughing with a boyhood friend today. We used to take summer school every year to kill off some required academic class for the following year. We did this so that we could take the shop classes that we could NEVER fit into our college prep schedules. This is so that we could learn the techniques for doing projects on our resurrected cars and trucks! Thanks for the memories!

Welcome back A weekend without DIESEL CREEK is tough going Nice work on the AUTOCAR

The output shaft for the front diff is made to be unbolted at the 4 bolt retainer and pulled out the back of the axle housing as an assembly. Then you can inspect the output shaft bearing and retainer for wear and install a new seal and gasket. surprised to see someone still has SQHD's rebuilt on the shelf. FYI test fit an axle shaft in both units to make sure they have the same spline count each one, those units were available with two different spline counts for SLHD and SQHD.

Love the Auto Car rebuild. It is truly an icon and will soon be a head turner on the big roads with a dozer in tow.
-
Matt, this is why people like you so much. Most of us know squat about painting and would never notice your mistake. You point it out anyway. Keep it up man.
-
I will be so excited when you get your bridge crane installed and operating. Yesssssss.
-
Not a Sunday video, what a sweet treat!
-
Like my old dad use to say, a blind man would be glad to see it. It looks fantastic from down here in Australia. And he only person you have to please is yourself. Love the videos can’t wait to see the finished product. Cheers.
