Two types of sadness: The type that makes you want to yell your heart out and get angry at nothing. The type that leaves you empty, quiet, and feeling emotionless. ...You can connect the dots.
  • @catwadogsname
The main difference between MCR and TØP is that in this, Gerard sounds like he's still fighting, while Tyler sounds like he just gave up.
  • Lyrics: Turn away.. If you could get me a drink, of water cause my lips are chapped and faded Call my Aunt Marie.. Help her gather all my things And bury me in all my favorite colors My sisters and my brothers still I will not kiss you! Cause the hardest part of this, is leaving you!... Now turn away... Cause I'm awful just to see Cause all my hairs abandoned all my body All my agony Know that I will never marry! Baby, I'm just soggy from the chemo I'm counting down the days to go It just ain't living! And I just hope you know! That if you say! (If you say) Goodbye today! (Goodbye today) I'll ask you to be true! (I'll ask you to be true) Cause the hardest part of this, is leaving you! Cause the hardest part of this, is leaving you!

Last year I was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I have loved MCR my whole life and always loved this song but it takes on such a deeper meaning when you actually understand the pain and side effects of chemo and of cancer itself. Today was my last round and chemo and I'm so thankful for my life but I'm also so thankful for all the good MCR did as a band. Love this song and love them. Be kind you never know how long you have with the ones you love I got lucky.

People call MCR trash. Say the band is dead and the music is too emo or whiny. But then they're going to sing and use lyrics from a song that mcr wrote. So disrespectful.
  • One thing we should all be clear on:The point of a cover is to add your own touch and feel to the original.  In this case, Twenty One Pilots changed the song drastically to convey what they felt the lyrics could mean.  In the original, Gerard sounds raw and emotional, to show that while he would be willing to accept what's coming, he won't give up without fighting first.  In the Twenty One Pilots cover, Tyler is soft and calm, as if he's given up, or he's already lost.  Both show a major amount of emotion, and both convey a deep message.  Only big differences are the types of emotion and the message they tried to convey.

I love TØP but this version will always be my favorite <3

Fancier lyrics: Move afar If you could manage me a beverage of one hydrogen two oxygen because my lips are cracked and gory call my auntie marriete assist her in administrating my belongings and cover me in all of the greatest shades of pigment my bretheren and other siblings I will not administer my lips to you Because the most difficult process of this death Is going away from thou now move afar becauseth i am terrible just to gaze at with all my dead skin cells leaving my anatomical structure oh my indescribable pain know that I will never commit into a relationship of marriage darling, I'm just wet from the chemotherapy but counting out the segments of time measured in 24 hours to go this just is not being alive and I just feel as if you need to acknowledge that if you tell me farewell today I'll asketh you to be honest because the most difficult process of this death is going away from thou because the most difficult process of this death is going away from thou.

Keep scrolling. Don't pay attention to the emo girl crying in the corner.
  • @jakes4670
The original version is so much more emotional Edit: Guys, I know this is the original 😂 Sorry for the confusing wording
  • Just came back from the new tøp version AND BOTH OF THEM ARE SO BEAUTIFULLLL

R.I.P jack you died today at 5:30 from cancer Thank you for appreciating even the littlest things in life. Congratulations for being sober until The end. Thanks for everything thanks for all of the great memories

It's not the time to say this, but I got an ad about Morgan Freeman talking about Cancer.....yeah ok
  • two years ago my mom got diagnosed with cancer and they gave her two options, either have a better quality of life but two years at most or a terrible life and four years at most, she chose the second option so she can see me graduate from highschool. school has been hard recently and its caused me to be suicidal but ive found MCR and this song is keeping me determined to graduate so my mom can be happy one last time before she dies
  • I really respect My Chemical Romance. Most of the time, a lot of bands of their kind don't show real emotion, it's really just their whiny way of expressing all their inconveniences, but MCR truly delivers meaning and their feelings very well where it could touch many groups of people.
  • @mayamcgrath5092
people need to chill with saying that tøp wrecked the song. mcr & tøp's versions are fking awesome & they both win in my eyes so can we all chill about this shit
  • @averagegirl8956
I felt nothing but his anger in this song which would go allot with the theme "cancer" in actuality. But I feel like TØP is getting so much hate that is irrelevant. The whole point of any cover is to interpret how you feel and what the song does to you. Twenty one pilots just gave us another perspective on his emotions and makes the song more about a kind of decay with the words of "chalped lips" and "faded" and showing his fear of being forgotten. This is just my opinion. Ik I might get hate but idc.
