the lyrics are the Romeo and Juliet story told from Juliet’s perspective.

Sayonakidori (nightingale bird) I think refers to a Shakespeare's nightingale (night singer) bird of Romeo and Juliet (Act III, Scene 5, Line 1). The Small Pigeon goes very deep with her lyrics, infusing her thoughts and culture, Po! 🦍🍌
  • Akane on backing vocals who knew, the band who do everything .

AI is /ai/, (愛), which means LOVE in Japanese.
  • @Aaronacer
That is Misa's signature Black Smoker bass, but in "Dive Bar White", which she helped design. It is actually finished that way.
  • And to think she’d never held a guitar before forming Band Maid!🤯💪🏻🤘🏻

I love that, like Band-Maid newcomers like yourself, continue to discover how talented and professional each member of the group is. The more you listen to their music, the deeper your own love for them will be. Sayonakidori is the Japanese word for a nightingale. The lyrics (written by Miku that poetic little pigeon) is based on Shakespeare's tragedy "Romeo and Juliet". Juliet's unrequited longing for romantic fulfillment is reflected in the words. In the play, Juliet hears a bird singing and thinks it's a nightingale so her and Romeo's romantic interlude can continue. Romeo, however, realized the bird is a lark and that morning is approaching so he must interrupt the tryst and leave. Juliet's frustration is shown in Miku's "young girl's" lyrics.
  • I am so glad I got to experience this song live (the hard version) in DC in 2022. It is always magical.

The Acoustic version is made by Miku Musik and Lyrics are new arranged vor this Concert. It was the first Time she made the Musik vor a Song by her self.
  • The acoustic version of "Puzzle" with just Saiki and Kanami and the acoustic version of "Smile" are also excellent and are not to be missed!
  • @Bekka_Noyb
3/5 of Band Maid is still better than most bands
  • Miku usually gets one solo song on each album- this is from the Unseen World album. Other songs include Big Dad and Summer Drive 2014, Beauty And The Beast 2015, Time 2017, Rock In Me 2018, Brightest Star 2024. Any form of Band-maid always manage to produce magic genius.

Kanami wrote the song but Miku did the acoustic arrangement herself which she is very proud of ,as well she should be, it's amazing. You should check out the electric version, totally different vibe, but still lovely.
  • Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。This beautiful song surprised me when I found the meaningful lyrics about two lovers on the verge of breaking up had been inspired by Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. That is why Sayonakidori = Nightingale (*). Miku is a truly talented artist, and an excellent producer as well. * Juliet "Wilt thou be gone? it is not yet near day: It was the nightingale, and not the lark, That pierced the fearful hollow of thine ear; Nightly she sings on yon pomegranate-tree: Believe me, love, it was the nightingale."

This version became my favourite BM track of all a while back. It's in just about every playlist I have.
  • This was the best Christmas present, ever! Different variations of several Band-Maid songs and line up! Miku arranged this song, btw! MISA on lead bass! Akane on backing vocals! Cool variation!
