WFH BONUS CONTENT: The voice you hear during the "Macropad 101" infomercial was created when I trained an AI voice model on a certain kids commercial from the 1990s... The commercial? ZOOBOOKS! (hopefully some of you remember lol) However, what I didn't realize is that the AI model also included the sounds of wild animals, and if you listen closely you can still hear a bit of those screaming lions and tigers in the background of that part of the video. I know this is not relevant to the macropad featured in the video, but I had to tell somebody this story lol. This concludes my bonus content, thank you for watching this video. ❤

I like that there is actual use cases for the pad and not just a "review"

Why does it feel like the entire world has forgotten about rechargeable AAA/AA batteries? I personally greatly prefer them in devices such as game controllers over plug-in rechargeables but every time I've seen someone mention AA batteries in the past few years they time travel back to 1999 and their childhood gameboy.

i mean.... this is certainly my favorite macropad channel.

That 80s style educational video was hilarious, well done!

I love all these Macropad reviews! Keep it up please!

A user replaceable battery when you can get usb-C port charging traditional cells now? absolute win.

As someone who has been switching to Linux, software being open-source usually means it also runs on all platforms. So, while this device sounds great and all, it does suck that the software is proprietary. However, since it wasn't mentioned in the video, they do support Linux, and actually include a wide range of ways to install it, including Deb packages, RPM packages, and even just the end product.

Thank you ! I bought the AC19 thanks to your review and it works well ! I use it when back from work, it’s on the table I press a few keys and it wakes the Mac/opens Music app/plays a song randomly from my playlists a bit like turning on the radio… I use the wheel for volume and buttons for next/previous etc. Great gadget !

I absolutely love the macropad, 80's esque ad. That was super silly and this level of effort does not go unnoticed 😂 Great review + tutorial over all, bravo!

Now I want to give this a try to speed up my workflow!

easily the most useful video in this category I've seen recently. I will probably print a weighty 3D printed base for it that matches the angle of my keyboard.
  • @ruzarkov2
I actually managed to find this for £10.00 at a local online store so definitely a great punt to try and see for my first macropad, always wanted something like this to help editing and with workflow so thanks for the recommendation!

I think one future update for there macro pads is having an e-ink type display on each key, then you can assign it any symbol you want ot each key, and if the key has a second function you can add that function based on context or when a function key is pressed.
