Nintendo really likes to milk the Mario franchise. So much so that they made bad educational games back in the 80’s and 90’s. But are they really THAT bad? Yes, but why?

If you ask me, the only Edutainment Mario game that's worth any salt (and is the least idiotic) would be Mario Teaches Typing; because not only would you be encouraged to get good at typing through it's animations, but it also has Mario talking to you during that process. And yes, that Mario head was big thing in the 90s, as it was part of "Mario In Real Time", purposefully made to be showcased in tradeshows, with Martinet (or another person) playing Mario for any body who pass by; in fact, Charles Martinet was casted as the voice of Mario since the "Mario in Real Time" concept. There's also Wario and Donkey Kong being part of the MIRT program, even though they don't use Donkey Kong or Wario anymore. Wario was used in the mid-2000s, where Mario and Wario got full bodies, but afterwards, Wario got replaced by Luigi, after the MIRT program got another update, which included Mario and Luigi running around the stage they stand on. Nowadays, it feels like Mario in Real Time would become extinct now that Martinet is no longer voicing Mario for any new dialogue. MIRT talk aside, Mario Teaches Typing was the first Mario game (licensed or not) to ever have Charles Martinet play the voice of Mario, and despite the visuals, or the fact you type to make Mario do anything, it kept the visual identity of Mario's world.
