The Bad! Rock Shed Un-Boxing

Published 2023-10-29
Well folks, looks like the USPS not only got violent with my rocks, but they must also have run out of packing tape to affect an in-transit repair, sad to see it for the price we pay for the privilege.

  • Hello, I'm,I'm your 39th Thumbs up. I'm here returning the support you gave me friend. I enjoy doing & watching unboxing videos. Sorry the package got destroyed. I know here they have a shortage at the post office and they've been trying to hire workers for months. I absolutely Love rocks. I was introduced to polished rocks by my 5th grade teacher & I was in Love. Great Share for sure. 😍😍😍 Sharon in SC
  • Wow they butchered your box ! What a nightmare ! I would of been very made :face-orange-raised-eyebrow:I know you had to be afraid to take a look inside:face-turquoise-covering-eyes:You think it is all there, is amazing ! Such beautiful material and can't wait to see it tumbled😊

Now I see what you meant by stay tuned for The Bad in your other comment. I would be pretty upset to about my packages arriving smashed. WOW. They really worked for that one. You did get some beautiful stones though. I have a 5 gallon bucket full of stones that I got from my buddy. He got them from a cleanout job that I hooked him up with. One night I decided to see if any of them are fluorescent under a black light and discovered UV stamps on some of them. I think he mentioned they may have been specimens in a museum or something. I'm not really sure what the background is on them. But I'll upload a video so you can check them out some time. I'd love to know what they are. Thanks for showing off your newest arrival. I always enjoy checking out the beautiful stones nature has to offer. 🥰
  • Coming back I see this is a good post there is a lot to do congratulations 👍👍❤

Hey Mr. Chubbyhubby! I didn't know you had a channel! Now subscribed! Hilarious intro! Sorry about the crap job the post office did. See you on the next one!
  • The Mozambique stuff is gorgeous! Ive had my fair share of issues with the post office, too. I imagine they hate us rockhounds 😂 Too many complaints against them, in my opinion. They can do better.

I love the story about the calumet calmetative institute and good lord that box has seen better days! I dont think any therapy aould stop me from going postal on the post office for that mess! Do better Post Office! That really is ridiculous! And although im sure you had to have lost some with that huge hole and those smaller sized rocks, its a good thing you got 10lbs of the iolite! I absolutely love iolite for its color changing ability in each stone. It is very much like tanzanite and it is just as gorgeous! And your Mozambique banded agates are going to be fabulous too! I didnt know they carried iolite rough at the rock shed! Im going to have to look into that! And im super curious how it does being tumbled and please post your results with them for me! I am so curious how it tumbles since ive only seen it faceted before! Thanks MrCH! You did remarkably well staying much calmer than i would have, so your 6 weeks in therapy at Calumet must have helped quite a bit, or you are just not as much of a hot head as i am! Lol! Thanks for sharing what was left of your box of rocks, with us! ❤
  • Funnily enough I’ve just had a delivery from USA to GB with the box damaged like yours and it had 50% of the specimen rocks missing… I was gutted…perhaps one day I will get some good specimens from America
  • Gosh! What did they do? Play soccer with box cutters strapped to their toes?? I’ve been really disappointed with the post office lately! At least you still have very pretty rocks!🙌🏼
  • Wow, I'd imagine the extra weight of the rocks makes the package more likely to take on some damage but that was pretty bleeping bad lol. We haven't ordered any rocks from the rock shed but we do get our grit form them. That could really be a mess with grit if it got damaged that bad in shipping.

the postal workers here love to drive on the (just this summer) newly rebuilt sidewalk. I reported one last year, twice, when they were driving on the old sidewalk. I may have to submit something to the postmaster. I know if I went around driving on the sidewalk the cops here would quickly be ticketing me.
