No more misdirecting the blame. These kids are choosing to exhibit this type of behavior. They know exactly what they are doing.

Who knew if there's no consequences, criminals break the rules. What a revelation.

These are not disturbances or gatherings, these are riots
  • I used to work at a mall across the street from police station and we had a deal with these turnouts. Hundreds of kids running around causing chaos, starting fights and jumping on parked cars. The police couldn't do anything about it because the city officials tied their hands because they didn't want the spike in arrest to look bad on their quarterly report. The worst part was that They used to go to another mall in another city but the police were empowered by their city officials. The cop showed up in force they even brought out the Patty wagon. Dozens of kids got arrested and that was the last time that mall had a turn out.
  • How can you protect something if the criminals know they will face minimal consequences and it’s always someone else’s fault
  • @GhostSal
This is what happens when you make excuses for this behavior and don’t hold people accountable.
  • I'm a taxpayer. I WANT A SAFE PLACE. I want to walk safely down my street. I want to be safe in my car and not have my window's smashed in , my car destroyed. I want to be safe from getting the s*&^ beat out of me .
  • What a surprise businesses are closing in Chicago! Why would tourists would ever spend any money in such a lawless city?
  • Continue to give them a slap on the risk and say ok. This is just stupid. Shows absolutely no discipline whatsoever
  • My ancestors lived in the neighborhoods of Chicago, since the 1800's, that were majority white and are now black. When the blacks moved in some of my older family members refused to leave, but eventually they got fed up with the bad behavior and left. They were some of the last whites to leave. It's sad what has happened to those parts of Chicago. The black neighborhoods may get better someday but not in our lifetime. It's a culture problem. A culture of glorifying crime and turn a blind eye to it.
  • The plan is to obviously have the mayor say it's the cop's fault and then cater to the parents' votes. Defund the mayors pay roll.
  • @Allaiya.
I don’t appreciate a mayor who doesn’t protect their city. Hold the parents accountable bc they’re not holding their kids accountable.
  • They don’t need activities or summer camp, they need jail. They need consequences. They need to be arrested when they’re visibly breaking the law in front of 10 to 20 police officers! And Chicago needs a new mayor willing to stand up and do what needs to be done.😊

Regardless of the color of your skin or who you are, if you commit multiple crimes (especially at places and times of civil unrest) and you are convicted, your entire family should be punished financially (no more government assistance for mom or auntie especially if you’re going to be using everyone else’s tax dollars to only commit crime which then costs even more government money to mitigate and solve), if parents don’t care about their children’s actions or whereabouts then they should also be held accountable and not get paid for “raising” criminals regardless of race.

It’s bad when you can see which community is committing most of the problems. And then want to pretend like it’s not obvious and call you racist when you point it out.

We tried the bleeding heart way. It's time for something tougher. These kids don't want jobs, a job requires some sense of accountability and responsibility something those kids lack.
  • People in Chicago are paying large taxes to let this stuff just go. No wonder even Walmart and the Bears are leaving the city
  • @AAA-fd8rh
Parent raises your kids respect and class. It starts at home...problem 99% of those kids have 10 brothers and sisters and live in a one bed room appartment with only the mother. So everyone is pushed on the streets.

The authorities aren’t going to be able to do much to change this behavior. The people organizing these disruptive groups of teens, know that there is no recourse.
