Today, we're going to take a look at a pen that's absolutely fine, but has a neat gimmick, the Silex Jet.

Thank you very much for the review Nick. Appreciate the feedback, you really have a good eye for design and it feels great to see that some of the small details we put into this pen are worth it! We get your point on the grooves but it needs this texture to prevent the inner part to be all scratched up by the action. Also you're right, parts are made in China and finished and assembled here in France. Thanks again.

As soon as I saw the function of this pen I went ahead and ordered one. Thanks for letting me know these exist.

actually california legal! what a gem
  • This is my all time favorite pen. I have tactile turns, usg’s, big ideas…the Jet is my favorite pen by a mile and one of my favorite pieces of edc gear in general.

I am surprised I don't see the Space Pen - Infinium being reviewed more. It's a NON-refillable pen, like the space pen. But, it has a wider diameter, and a pocket clip. It's claim to fame is: "If the pen runs out of ink in your lifetime, send it back for repair or replacement." In other words, under "normal conditions," you won't run out of ink in your lifetime. - Yes, it performs like a space pen, so it needs extra pressure to write, however it becomes "the last pen you will ever need." At $160 to $200 (depending on finish) it is worth taking a look at, and ideal for an EDC item [if you don't loose it.]
  • Great video thanks for sharing It's good to see an honest review It's very refreshing Glad to have you back

“I know it’s in here, but it’s small” was my nickname in college
  • Does anyone make a pen that uses the Bloblabbity CO-8-675309 ink refill? I have about 30 of them sitting in a drawer but broke the pen that uses them...
  • The ridging does smoothen out with use/deployment. Disagree with nick’s assessment that a stonewashed would be better. I, of course, would like that more tactile turn finish, but it isn’t nearly as aggressive as it seems. Especially after a little time. I also purchased 2 so there is a noticeable difference from new to used. You will have to clean it every so often bc I think a lot of the “crud” is actually finish pieces of metal that get “sanded” down with use. I think that “sanding” actually part of the reason for replacement types. Cleaning is easy though with just a wet microfiber towel.

I am glad that you use that against the Delica because I was getting ready to say how does it measure up against the Spyderco Delica everything I measure in my life is if it’s bigger or smaller or the same size as a Delica

We use Sharpie Pen ( medium 0.7mm Black Ink S-Gel). It's metal body gioves it that executive look & it writes ever so smoothly, it just glides on any paper.. It's affordable & elegant. Cowabunga Mr. Shabazz..!

I was about to ask where the delica was. You didn't disappoint.

so what I understand is that with the texturing and the spring strength this can be classified as "High speed, high drag"?
  • i'd like to see if an insert with a glass breaker could break a window by simply deploying the pen😅
  • They could have cleaned up that slop with an O-ring. But I'm sure a piece of tape would do the same thing. There's plenty of surface area to apply it.
  • @Baaddu
Metal fatigue will be an issue because of how forcefully it deploys. If you fidget and shoot it out a lot it eventually will snap off the button or the barrel will break..no thanks. Great review Nick!
